Emily ran into the forest like a doe, jumping over fallen trees and stepping over sticks and branches until she came to the field where the pine tree was. She ran quickly to the tree. As she slid to a stop before the great tree, she paused to look at this great wonder. But not for long as thoughts of John filled her mind.
"Go, find John" was still ringing loud and clear in her mind. She firmly pressed her hand against the tree at the same place she had placed her hand last time. The bark peeled away, revealing the portal, all shining and beautiful. She stared into the water-like wall of swirling colors and wondered if she really should go in. The bark began to slowly cover the portal, so she had better decide now or never.
