Wes's P.O.V
We had to be silent, we had to try as hard as we could not to make any noise. If we made any noise we would instantly be swarmed and that would be the end, I held Mari's hand and looked at her. It never gets any less terrifying when you see them, the soulless dead eyes and rotted flesh. At any point in time you could get the person you love the most ripped away from you and then you're all alone, and nobody wants to be alone because you will go insane.
I always wanted to have a large family and to be a father, but I knew that was never going to happpen as long as we lived in this world. It would be far too dangerous to bring a child into this mess of a world where they could be taken away from me before I know it. A low growl brought me out of my thoughts and back to reality, hiding under a camper trailer in the middle of Los Angeles to avoid dying. I reach into my pocket and grab my knife out to use if i have to, Mari looks at me and she had the same idea as me and she has her knife at the ready.
The growling and moans start to die down and i crawl to the edge of the camper trailer to check and see if the coast is clear, there are very few zombies around and I think it's time we moved so we wouldn't be caught out after dark, "we need to move, be quiet and follow my lead."
Mari's P.O.V
I didn't want to move, I wanted to stay under the trailer where I knew it was safe and I wasn't risking loosing the man I love like I almost have so many times before. I never want to lose Wes but there is always the risk in this world of loosing the people that are closest to you, I have already lost so many people if I lost Wes I don't know what I would do.
We start to crawl out from underneath the trailer and got up as slowly as we could with our knives at the ready, I had a feeling that something was going to happen but ignored it because I needed to be focused on the situation at hand. We stood up slowly and Wes was still holding my hand, he didn't want to let me go so he wouldn't have to risk loosing me. We stuck to the shadows best we could and made our way around the city that was once beaming with life and filled with more people than you could count.
I heard footsteps from behind me and before I coulld react, I felt a hand go around my waist pulling me away from Wes. My hand was yanked out of Wes's grip and he didn't seem to think anything of it and kept on moving forwards, "Wes" I whisper yelled hoping he would hear me. He stopped for a second and then he just continued to walk, I knew that I couldn't yell out to him because that would alert the zombies to our presence. "Wes" I said it a little louder hoping he would hear me but he didn't and just kept on walking, I knew from this point I was kinda screwed because I was too far away for him to hear me now.
