I grabbed my sister and hauled her out of the room. Tears and blood poured over my lips as I sobbed. I didn't know if I was going to make it out alive, but for her sake I at least had to try. She had saved me so many countless times that I couldn't just give up. I was going to push all the way through even if it kills me, which it actually might. Through the thick tropical leaves another person jumped out. It was a boy. His dark brown skin was broken by light blue designs that curled all the way up to his neck. He began to start using his powers but before he could exhibit what they were I jammed a blade through his neck and threw him to the side, out of our way. Mom would've been so proud of us for making it this far... Even more tears fell onto the hot sand. We needed to get off this Island. We needed to go home. That's all we wanted was to go home. Bare feet, I endured the scalding. Another girl jumped out. She aimed a finger at me and one of my daggers sunk between her eyes. Even through my blurred vision I managed to hit the target point.
"Jericho!" My little sister coughed, tricklettes of blood splattering onto my already dark red shirt.
"Rina!" I croaked from choking back the previous sobs. I stopped and slowly lowered her to the floor. "I'm so sorry." I cried, my saddened tears soaking her worn and tattered blouse.
"Jericho. Shh." She told me which seemed completely backwards. "A boy of his own ashes..." She coughed out before breaking into a coughing fit.
Her eyes began to glow.
"What about him Rina?" I asked frantically. Everything she predicted was exactly how she said it, I needed her to finish. "Rina, tell me." I sobbed even harder.
A girl about my age came running up behind me with metallic claws. Upon hearing her loud and heavy footsteps across the scratchy sand I stood up turned and halved her down the middle from head to hips. She fell in different directions, still moving her eyes back and forth, as if she still didn't know what just happened to her. What must her family be thinking right now? I probably just murdered their only child. I felt horrible. I have felt terrible this whole time being here. But that didn't matter. Rina was suppose to tell me something really important.
"Rina!" I fell back to the floor beside her. "You have to tell me what comes next. Rina please." I pleaded for both of our sakes.
"The boy of his own ashes..." She said before drifting off again.
Oh no! She was losing so much blood... I sobbed even harder... More footsteps behind me. I jumped and put my blade right where a face should've been, right at the tip of the nose, when suddenly someone wrapped their arms around my neck and held a burning hot metal to my neck.
"The person who's going to rob you of your only life," He narrated with his gazeforcefully digging into my eyes. "His name is Ash!"
