I would start from the whole beginning, but the beginning is usually just so boring and not interesting in the least.  Jumping into the middle of the action will immerse anyone into the story quickly.  Who else has done that?  That's right, not a lot of people have.  So that's how my story is going to start out, right here on this random island, standing on that damned sun-bleached sand with a blade in my hand hand pointed to nothing but open air, within the clutches of a surprisingly strong guy who told me that the name of my murderer would be someone named "Ash."

Against my back, I felt his muscles begin to work so I sprung into action.  I let go of my blade, grabbed onto this boy's wrist, twisted it violently, and then turned around to see who he was, grabbing my blade from the air it hung in. I was going to decapitate him, but I stopped when I saw who it was that I was holding.  It was the same guy that I had saw outside of the island.  It was him!

As I stared at him in paralysis he ripped his wrist from my grip, snapping some of his bones.  He just snapped his wrist back into place and tried to use his knife again.  I struck it away with my blade, he spun and tried again with a slash. I blocked it again with my blade and slashed him across the chest.  Something within me had me feeling so wrong for hurting him...  But why?  He brought out blood on his palm from his shirt.  Again, he raised his knife.

"Jericho." Rina coughed. She was so wary and weak but she managed to sit up slightly. Blood stuck to her body and wrapped itself into her hair. In a flash, Ash darted toward her. I slashed where he should've been, certain that I would get him, but he just smoked away. His body literally turning into ash and smoke and the remains were quickly snatched up by the sea bitten wind. Smoke and small embers ignited, crackling, over Rina and took a solid form as the flame-like colors blended to form Ash. He picked her up and held her in front of him. More blood dripped to ground.

"Jericho!" She said weakly, coughing from the strain which caused even more blood.

"Rina!" I called out as they both smoked away and their colors drifted into transparency with the wind.

My blade and my knees bore into the sand as I dropped down to the ground. Tears built up in my eyes until they overflowed down my face. Their taste bitterly touched my mouth as I sobbed.

Losing my sister tore my heart and my mind into shreds. Through the blur of tears I wandered as if soullessly through the trees, other kids would jump out to ambush me only to find themselves in pieces or mixed with the sand. I wandered and I wandered, crying to myself, until the darkness of the night surrounded me and watched as I tortured myself with memories of her.

"Hey!"

Eyes sore from crying, I held my blade out in someone's blurred face.

"Whoa! Wait!"

"Go away!" I screamed at the top of my lungs. strands of saliva sputtered from my lips. I swung my blade carelessly and aimlessly only to hear something creak and fall to the ground. A tree, I figured.

"I'm not here to hurt you." The soft voice told me, trying hard not to sound like a threat with the possibility of being like that tree.

"I just want to be alone!" I yelled in reply, still allowing the endless flow of tears to pour down to my shirt.

"I see that. But if you haven't noticed, it's pretty dangerous out here alone." The voice said with a slight joking tone to it.

"I can handle it!" I said holding out my blade again. I felt something brush against it.

"You can't even see, you're crying so much." The voice said as its owner grew closer to me.

"For all I know you could be dangerous too." I said de-energizing my blade and energized ninja claws instead.

"Do I look dangerous to you?" The voice asked. Through the veil of tears I could see hands reaching up to my face. I put an arm between me and the voice's body. My forearm pressed firmly against a firm chest, holding that person back.

"Trust me. I promise I won't hurt you." The voice assured me. Without Rina I couldn't help but give up. Whether this person killed me or not, it wouldn't have mattered, I failed her and now I deserved anything that came to me. I allowed the hands to touch my face and gently stop the flow of tears, wiping the remains away, then retreated so that I could see who was standing in front of me... I froze...

It was a boy... with deep crystal blue-green eyes that even the dark couldn't hide...
