Beaten Up || Zoro x Sanji

Part 1

"Sanji, what the hell was that all about?",

Zoro asked the cook, raising his voice and glaring at him angrily and pained.

"Would it be possible for you to not flirt with Nami just for one fucking day?! Am I not enough?"

"Of course you are. Stop saying those horrible things! I didn't do anything on purpose and I don't want her to be my girlfriend, why would I if I have the perfect boyfriend right at my side already?"

As hard as he was trying not to show it, he was scared, more than ever before.

Scared, that he was about to loose his one true love because of his stupid behaviour.
Scared, that this beautiful love he didn't deserve would slip right through his fingers and shatter into thousand pieces that no one could ever put back together.

His heart felt as if it wanted to jump out of his chest, beating painfully fast and hard against the flesh and bones that held it back.
Of course Sanji knew that it couldn't actually break, but damn, it sure felt like it anyway.

"Please, baby, I need you like the air I breathe, I'm begging you, don't leave me!"

His voice was shaking just as much as the rest of his body and his throat was already sore from choking back tears.
He slowly took a few steps towards the swordsman, but when he slightly traced his fingers over Zoro's arm, his boyfriend flinched and pulled back immediately, smiling the saddest smile he had ever seen.

"How dare you say that when you were just nearly making out with a girl, fully conscious and aware of what you're doing. How are we supposed to work out some sort of relationship if you don't care about what your actions might cause or how they might make me feel? I believe I need you more than you need me, therefore I can't leave you, even if I wanted to, and at first I thought it was a wonderful miracle, but it has turned into a curse rather quickly... There are dark clouds hovering above our relationship, but you are not trying to built a shelter for us, you just search for someone who's not covered by those clouds yet."

Tears were running down Sanji's cheeks and - because of how close they were standing - Zoro could see his own reflection in the oceans that were his eyes.

"Can we just forget it ever happened?"

The blonde wanted to hug and kiss him.
He wanted to make things right between them again, but he didn't know how.

He felt like he was drowning.

The swordsman definitely wanted to give in to his pleading voice anyway, but he took all his willpower to withstand the need to comfort his crying boyfriend and continue.

"You have no idea how much I'd like to do that, but I know you'll do it again if we don't change something... Maybe we could both use some time apart to think about everything."

The cook ran his right hand through his hair, gathering himself before nodding hesitantly and biting his lower lip.

"I love you, Sanji."

These words were all it needed to break him and make him completely loose it. He ran out of the room just before he started sobbing.

Zoro's fist hit the wall with a loud thud and both the wall and his knuckles crackled.

Shit!

Again his fists crashed into the wall.

And again.
And again.

He didn't feel any pain, he just felt numb.
Every inch of his body felt numb and useless.

What was he supposed to do without this beautiful man?!
His heart and his soul would follow where ever Sanji would go and he couldn't do anything about it.

His hand was bleeding by now, but he didn't even notice.

Why did the one he trusted and loved most abuse his feelings like that, why did it have to be so painful?
To him, death would be better than losing Sanji and he was pretty close to losing him.

What had he done wrong?

He had to do something about the sadness and rage he was feeling at the same time or he was going to explode eventually.
He was glad they were staying in a harbour for a few days, he had forgotten the name of the city right after Nami had said it. But that way, he could leave the ship, maybe drown his problems in some alcohol and forget about everything.
And he just really needed to get away from the ship and its' crew, one crewmember especially.

Sanji knew he should have stayed and apologise, tell him how much he loved and needed him and make things right between them again.

But he had fucked everything up.
Everything.

And now he had destroyed what he loved most.
He ran off the ship and down into the city until he bumped into her.

Nami.

She saw his red eyes and did the only thing that came to her mind.

She wrapped her arms around him and pulled him into a close hug.

She didn't ask nor did she talk at all, she just held him until he let go.
Which he didn't do for nearly fifteen minutes.

Her shirt got soaked with his tears, but Nami couldn't have cared less.
She knew how he felt and she was in the need of some comfort, too.

Eventually, Sanji took one step back and snivelled, his cheeks just as red as his eyes.

"Do you wanna talk about it?"

Her voice was calm and soft and he was grateful for her offer, but shook his head no nevertheless.
He was thinking of something to say that wouldn't sound completely stupid, but the woman just spoke up again.

"Well, I've just had an argument with Robin, so, you know, you're not alone... I'm in a pretty bad mood as well."

They sat down at the port and stared at the water, watching the sun create sparkly patterns on small waves and fish jumping out of the water every now and then.
And as they were sitting there, they talked about God and the world and as they were talking, they somehow scooted closer to each other until they slowly fell silent.

And before they could think about it twice, their lips were connected for an emotional and heated kiss.

When Sanji went on to slip his hand underneath her shirt and felt her curves that felt so very different from Zoro's muscular body, he immediately backed off in shock.

"I-I'm sorry, I shouldn't have..."

He jumped up and hurried to get away from her, leaving her sitting at the port, wide eyed and shaking, covering her mouth with both hands.

Now he had really fucked up.
