In the infarmary
Natsu"s pov

Saying i was sock wouldn't be enough to describe how i felt. He....his eyes.....they are different.....these weren't the eyes i always met. I could always see the pity for me in their eyes but.....that guy is different. It's like he says "it hurts. I know it hurts. I have felt the same. And i know it hurts". His eyes don't held pity. Only understanding.

I was frozen. I didn't expect this. He walked closer to me, his eyes never leaving mine. I didn't move away lile usual. He puts a bowl with soup infront of me and sits at the chair next to my bed.

"Here. Eat" he says with a calm and soft voice. I look at the bowl infront of me. I gulp. From te corner of my eye i can see him standing up. He walks closer to me and stops right infront of me. I look at him in the eyes.

"I can help you if you want" he says with a soft and caring voice. I don't know why but the tone and the softens of his voice reminds me something. But what is it? I can't remember at all.

I slowly nod and he sits next to me on the bed. He brings a spoon with some soup near me but i'm just staring at it. What if it's poisoned? Or like the one that man was giving me?

He sighes and brings it near his mouth and eats some. He then turns towards me with a small smile.

"You can eat it. It's good" he says and brings it near me again. I stare at it and eventualy try it. He was right. It's really good. He feeds me the soup and gives me tea that he also brought with him.

I start feeling sleepy. I lay down on the bed as he stands up. I grab his black robe and he turns to me.

"What's wrong? Do you need something?" He askes. "W...what's..... your..... name?" i ask with a hoarse cracking voice. He makes a small smile. "Zeref. My name is Zeref" Zeref...this name brings back a well welcomed warm. His smell too. Cherry-blosoms and vanilla with hints of darkness. It was....like home. I wonder why.

"Zeref.....will you....be here when i wake up?" i ask and look at him. He seemed shocked for a moment before smilling softly. "Yeah. If you want, that is""Promise?""Promise" i nod and let him go.

He walks out the room and i look out the window. Then i realised something. 'This entire time....he didn't touch me'. I make a small smile before falling asleep.

Out the infarmary
Makarov's pov

The whole time there was no screaming. No-one dared to move or speak. It was....really silent. Way too silent for my likings. It was then that the infarmary door opened and Zeref walked in the hall.

He walked towards us and let the, suprisingly, empty plate on the bar. Well this was something strange. Natsu didn't accept food from us, his family but he accapted it from Zeref. Zeref sits at one of the stools with his arms crossed over his chest and eyes closed.

"How? How did you make Natsu eat? We tried for weeks and gave him his favorite food but still" Mira says breaking the silence. He opens his eyes and look at her. He unfolds his hands and points one to his neck.

"His voice has closed. That's why he couldn't talk nor eat anything that's hard to swallow. Because it hurts him" he replies. I mentaly facepelmed.  'How could we not have thought about it?'

"Now. If you want my help then you'll have to accept some conditions" he says in a really serious voice while looking at me in the eyes.

"Go on" i say looking back at him. "Tell us your conditions. We'll accept them" i say as serious as him.

"First of all, because i know you were thinking about it, no-one will take decisions for Natsu. Natsu will decide what he wants and what's right for him. No-one else. Second, if i say you have to do or not do something you must follow it. And third, no-one will see Natsu unless i say so" he says with a serious look and a calm voice.

"What if someone brokes one of these conditions?" someome asked. Zeref turns his attention there.

"Natsu tries to get over what happened himself since you brought him here. Now if someone brokes the conditions then....Natsu might take it completely different and broke. And.. probably without turning back." He says sadness and sorrow written on his exprecion. I assume he has seen someone completely broken. I don't even want to imagine how it looked like and sure as hell i don't want to see this happening to Natsu.

"Alright. We accept your conditions and no-one will broke them" i replied trying my best to not let my voice crack. He nods "you did the right choice Makarov. I promise i'll do my best to help Natsu"
