eves pov two years later
Vallerie runs into my office. "somethings gone wrong. you need to come with me." I stand up from my chair and rush out of the room. together we walk to the lab where we do the programming. when we enter the room, I see one new born baby seperated from the others.
"what's wrong with her." I ask
Vallerie frowns "the microchip wont work on her."
I stare at her for a minute and then look at the child. We have been microchiping the citizens since the beggining of the settlement.the microchips control what they think is right and wrong. We program them to believe in the system and do what is right. when new children are born, we insert a microchip and scan there brain activity to see if they have been programmed correctly. we have never seen a person we cant program. we have been here for seven years and we have NEVER had someone we cant control.
"What is her name?" I ask.
"Scarlett"
"She must never be aware that anyone is programmed." I say "Tell her parents."
"Yes President Eve."
Then she leaves me alone with baby Scarlett.
I walk over to where she sleeps. Carefully, I pick her up. She has a certain look in her bright green eyes. she looks like she could be of use to me. its too bad I cant control her.
