"Paging Ms. Maine Mendoza. Principal Tolentino would like to see you in her office...immediately," a woman's voice announces through the intercom.

Maine slowly takes her pen out between her gritted teeth, as she looks towards the intercom speakers. She was currently alone in her room, marking her students' pop quiz. She furrows her brows, remembering the times when getting called to the principal's office meant that you were in big trouble. She tidies up her desk a little, separating the marked papers from the unmarked into two different piles. She then places them in a drawer, locking it afterwards.

She stands up and makes her way out the door. As she was walking, she tried to recall any reason as to why Principal Tolentino was wanting her presence. It's the first day back at school, could she (or maybe one of her students) have done something wrong already?

She walks into the reception area, and greets Gloria - acknowledging Sheen's presence further inside, but careful not to distract her as they have already been told off too many times for doing so.

"Hi Ms. Gloria!" Maine says sweetly.

"O, Meng, andiyan ka na pala," she replies.

"Bakit ba daw po ako pinapatawag?"

"Ha? Eh, hindi ko din alam, iha," Gloria says scratching her head.

"Ok na po kaya akong pumasok?"

"Oo, sige lang. Sabi papasukin ka na lang daw."

Maine nods, and proceeds to entering the Principal's office. She went in, looking down, and she noticed a little stain on her skirt. It was such an inconvenient time for her to notice such a thing, but she picked at it anyways.

"Sorry, if I'm a little late. I was just marking some stuff and I came as quickly as I c-" her voice suddenly trailed off when she finally raised her head. 

"Hi, Ms. Mendoza. Anong kinukulikot mo diyan?" he greets, chuckling.

She doesn't reply. Instead, memories of their last meeting suddenly came to mind, leaving her paralysed.

"Ms. Mendoza, will you please slow down?" Richard begged, a little amused to see how persistent she was at avoiding him.

"Oo nga, bes! Maawa ka naman sa'min!" Sheen protests.

They did not hear one peep from Maine. But she continues to make her quick strides. Richard quickens his pace, and manages to catch up to her.

"Maine," he stops her, whilst grabbing her wrist.

She quickly snaps her head back at him, giving him an intense glare. She pulls her wrist, hard, trying to emphasise that she didn't want to deal with him right now. He was shocked by her actions. Unable to understand why she started acting this way, right after their little moment in the flower fields, yesterday. They continue to make their way down the mountain, with Maine leading whilst Richard and Sheen lug behind.

Maine has been feeling a whole load of different emotions, after their moment. She doesn't understand what it is. Maybe she was just caught up by it? Or maybe she was just still shocked because she didn't expect to see him here. She's been ignoring the possibility of her old feelings coming back, because she thinks that that isn't even possible. (But seriously, who is she even kidding?)
