Percy's P.O.V.

So our trip through Europe was going awesome!
Until the hellhounds showed up.

Let's start from the very beginning.
Annabeth and I got into a fight. "We never go anywhere!" She had groaned to me. "I'm sorry, I didn't know you wanted to go anywhere!" I responded.
"The option would have been nice!" She yelled at me. She then walked out of the cabin, storming.
So what do I do?
I buy ten first class tickets to Europe.
Yeah. I'm rich.
I always have Blackjack bringing me random stuff that I sell online, and also Dad let's me keep anything I find that isn't sacred or dangerous.
Also, I went back and grabbed Medusa's head from my mom. I've been making and selling statues of things. Mostly dead birds or piles of wood on fire.
But hey, it works.
So yeah. I bought ten first class tickets for the seven, Nico, Reyna, and Calypso.
Annabeth is always ranting about how she would love to go to Europe.
"It's the architecture!" She tells me almost every night. "It's so inspiring!"
Long story short, I booked the flights and told them.
I got the expected reactions:
OMGS
HOW DID YOU AFFORD THIS?!
IS THIS FOR REAL?
Bro, we have to pay you back.
EUROPE?!
But it was amazing.
The big day came.
Now, I know what you're thinking:
You can't go on planes!
Well, I made an offering to Zeus. Also I did a lot of groveling.
But it was worth it.
First, we went to Germany and spent a week there. Then we went to France, then Italy, then Spain, and lastly the U.K..
We were having a great time in Wales when Annabeth spotted a ferry.
"Lets go to whatever island that goes to!" She said.
Practically the whole group protested, but there was no stopping Annabeth when she was decided.
The island, it turned out, was called Cairnholm.
Annabeth found a pamphlet, and started reading. "... population of 92, best known for-"
"Population of 92?!" Leo exclaimed.
Annabeth shushed him.
"... there is just one hotel..." she started reading again, and I zoned out.

Once we got on the island, Annabeth went to the hotel and asked if we could just leave our bags there.
"Sure!" the man said and pointed to one of the many open tables. "Just put 'em over there."
"Thank you!" Annabeth said and handed him 3 pounds.
So we all take our hike bags (drawstring bags filled with a change of clothes, the persons favorite snack, two bottles of water, and the persons favorite book) and go exploring.
Frank wanted to go to the other side of the island and Leo wanted to go swimming... needless to say we went to the other side of the island.
Well, we should have gone swimming because we walked straight into a pack of hellhounds.
There was this old, huge, decaying house sitting on the middle of a clearing.
As much as I wondered what happened to the house, I was more worried about making sure all my friends survive.
"Run to the cave over there!" Nico yelled, and for some reason, we all followed him.
In the cave, it was a dead end.
I could hear ticking, I assumed it was the Fates ticking down the clock until we died.
I whip around to Nico. "Dude, why did we come over here?" I say to him.
He shrugged. "I sensed something here... the hellhound can't come in."
Leo was punching Frank. "We should have gone swimingggggggg!" He yelled. Frank looked embarrassed, but not hurt by Leo's effect.
Annabeth steadied her breathing, and grabbed a large rock. "Guys, I can take at least three of the, out with the right timing. Be right back!" She said and sprinted out.
My throats closed up. "Annabeth!" I yelled and sprinted out there.
Everyone followed me.
I heard Piper scream, and then the sound of a monster being dispelled.
I cursed under my breath. "Run!" I yelled
"Where?" Reyna yelled back.
"How about to that mansion that suddenly appeared?" Leo said and pointed at the crumbling building.
Except, it wasn't crumbling anymore. It was a sprawling, towering, beautiful mansion. Even I could appreciate the architecture. And Annabeth could too, apparently, because she was staring at it in awe.
"Good plan. Run!" I yell.
So we run.
And we keep running.
We run through the front yard, and run out of places to run.
But that okay, because we were stopped anyway.
A scary looking girl with white-blond hair and big eyes, who kind of reminded me of Annabeth, and a plain looking boy with intense eyes were standing in front of us.
"So. Are you wights?" The girl said harshly.
