Jade's POV

Ring!!! Ring!!! Ring!!!

I rolled over and felt around for my alarm clock.

Ring!!! Ring!!! Ring!!!

Where is it

Ring!!! Ring!!! Ring!!!

I slammed my fist down on my bedside table and my hand connected with the alarm clock. The ringing stopped. I sat up and looked around my room there were boxes everywhere. I looked down at my sheets a pastel version of the American flag. Me and my parents were moving to Australia today.

"GET UP!!!" shouted my mom from downstairs.

I sighed and looked around again i'd lived here in englewood for almost 12 years. This was my home all my childhood memories had been made here.

I got out of bed and pick my clothes up off the floor. I got dressed slowly trying to stay in my room for as long as possible. The walls were plain white they no longer held all my poster and pictures of me and my friends, my drawings had also been packed in a box. Everything was in boxes ready to be flown to australia.

I heard a tap at my window and turned to see Oscar sitting in the tree trying to open my locked window.

"Let me in" he shouted tapping the window.

I walked over and unlocked the window and Oscar climbed in. he looked around at the bare walls and boxes.

"Do you really have to leave?"

"My mom got a job in Australia" I explained "So yeah i kinda have to leave. I don't want to trust me. I grew up here i wish i didn't have to go, but mom and dad are going."

"Will i ever see you again"

"I'll try to come back one day"

"Promise?"

"Promise"

He walked up to me and pulled me into a tight hug lifting me up off my feet. he put me back down and looked into my eyes.

"Come back one day, please"

"I will" I said with tears in my eyes.

The tears ran down my cheeks but I didn't bother to wipe them away

"Don't cry" said Oscar.

He used his thumb to wipe away the drops rolling down my pale cheeks. His olive hands reached up and held my face, he pulled me closer to him and slid one of his hands down my back to rest on my hip. He put a finger under my chin and turned my face to look into his deep dark brown eyes. My own bright ocean blue eyes were still swimming with tears but i smiled at him and he smiled back.

"I love you Jade. You'll always be my precious jem"

"I love you too Oscar. My dark skinned rebel"

He leant towards me his lips getting closer and closer to mine. I moved forward to. Suddenly our lips touched his lips were so soft and warm. I closed my eyes and he pressed his lips harder to mine. I don't know how long we stayed like that just standing there our lips touch holding each other so tightly I thought i'd never be able to let go. When we finally pulled away from each other my lips still tingled with the pressure.

I stared at him he too had tears in his eyes now.

"I'll see you again" he said " I know I will I can feel it right here" he put his hand over his heart.

"Well I guess I will see you again" i whispered

"JADE HURRY UP WE'RE LEAVING

"I've gotta go" I said sadly.

I turned around and then turned to face him again. I looked into his eyes and ran into his arms twisting my fingers into his black hair I pressed my lips to his one last time before turning around and grabbing my sheets off the bed and running down the stairs, my tears making waterfalls down my cheeks.

. . .

My parents were waiting downstairs. I wiped my tears away before they could see.

"Here take this it's your lunch" said my mom.

I took the brown paper bag from her and followed my parents out of the house. I stopped in the garden and turned to face the house and looked up to my window and saw Oscar looking at me I waved to him and said i silent goodbye to the house and Oscar then tuned and got in the family car. I hated our car it constantly smelled like new car and it was so big you couldn't take it to the shops, but, at least I could lie down on the back seat.

The car engine started and we reversed out of the driveway to the home i'd lived in since I was born. Leaving my happiest memories in boxes that would arrive in Australia a whole day after us.

My parents were chatting about random things, like the neighbor's cat and when we needed to fill up the petrol. But I was thinking about other things like would I ever see Oscar again or when were we going to come back to America.

. . .

We arrived at the airport at 10:00 and we were in and out of customs within thirty minutes. When i got to my seat i looked out the window. I had my own row all three of the seats were mine to put whatever i wanted on, my parents were in the row behind me so i could do whatever i wanted.

I stared at the ground below us
