short letter i wrote for my English class

Letter to home

Dear Mum, Dad, Brother, Sister,

Next week I return home after spending 12 years in the Vietnam War, I finally get to return home. It have been a very long journey, we are coming home. The war has ended, we have lost, but I feel like we have won the war because you put all our effort in trying to save and help our allies. Over 533,000 civilians have died, around 60,000 Australian troops have died, and leaving over 3,000 people wounded.

Do not worry though I am perfectly fine and have not been injured or harmed in any way. I have seen things most people will not see. The scared and sad faces of dying people, blood everywhere. In this war, death and destruction is all around you. I have seen my best mates die trying to save others from guns and bombs.

Anyways how is everyone doing? Maria I heard that you got a job at a newspaper factory, Lucas Dad said that you just turned 18, is that true are you that old now. Dad Mum said you had a stroke are you ok? Are you still in hospital? Mum I hope you are doing well, is everybody getting along like, I asked before I left? I really hope so I cannot wait to come back home and see your smiling faces once again! After 12 long years, I finally get to be with you all once again. Every day I feel connected to all of you and I feel like you're all standing right next to me as I fight to save the people of this country. I miss every single one of you and I hope to see you soon.

I miss you all very much and I can't wait to see you again, love your son, Jason Strange.

so this was my English assessment task about the Vietnam war.

this was based of a film study we have yet to watch but i think it is good. i made someone in my class cry because of this.

oops.

oh well. tomorrow i will edit this and tell you my score for this project
EDIT:ok so for my score I got 75% which is above standards at my school
