Hello welcome back,
I hope you enjoyed the first chapter, I know I promised an upload on wednesday and Friday but I got sick so this is the next chapter, it is not very exciting but I promise more action in the next one I just wanted to explain Maximillian's feelings first... enjoy xxxMaximillian
"WHY?!!!" I was getting pretty furious "Mom I don't get it, why do I have to marry to a girl I don't know?" My mother, the queen, was sitting calmly as ever on her throne. "My dear son, I know that you want to be free, but you have a duty to your country, her family is powerfull, and Lady Lianna is young and beautifull. Really darling, it's what is best for everybody". Yeah only not for me, I thought. I knew there was no point in arguing with a Queen especially this one: "okay mother, as you wish" I was defeated, as from tomorrow, I would have a fiancée, just because my mom needed the connection to her family's fortune. I went up to my room, the guards at the door looked a bit uneasy, they saw that I was upset and they didn't know how to react, so they said nothing. I knew that I wasn't usually like this, I normally held myself together, I had to be strong...
I never wanted to be a prince, I would be perfectly happy as a farmer, having a normal life was something I wanted for a long time. I closed the door and let out a huge sigh, all the tension was building in me and I felt like exploding. I walked over to my desk and sat down. There where a thousand papers on my desk that needed my attention, but I could not bring up the courage to start working. I lay down on my bed and I realised that I was very tired. After a while I gently fell asleep with only one thing on my mind: Lianna Delacroix..."Max! They are arriving any minute now, come down!" I was hesitant and I didn't know why, it's not like my mother would be brought to any other conclusion. "I will marry Lianna and I will face it with grace and bravery".
While I was giving myself this pep-talk my mother was screaming non stop for me to come down. "I'm coming! I'm coming!" I looked at myself in the mirror and descided that I would make the best out of this. I walked down the hall and went down the stairs...
As I was walking slowly down the stairs, I heard my mom scream: "They are here!" I lost my courage and wanted nothing more then to turn around and lock myself up in my room. I was almost downstairs as the guards opened the door. The first people that came trough the door where their personal guards. Their suits where bright red with golden details and they looked stunning. Behind the guards there where 3 maids they all wore long grey dresses and their hair in a bun. Right behind the maidens was a young woman, her hair was red and it was in a very complicated hairdo with braids and pins. She wore a beautifull, brightred gown and a scarf around her. But under all that glammer, I could see a normal girl, I could see that she was just as scared as I was. I went over to her, as I came closer I had a better view of her face, and the thing that captivated me the most where her eyes... bright blue. Like the sky on a perfect summer day. I bowed my head a litte "Welcome lady Lianne". She made a revérence " happy to be here prince Maximillian". I took her hand and gently pressed my lips against it, they where so soft and gentle. "The honor is all mine Lady" and that was it... they took her to her room. After a while I calmed down and slowly went up the stairs to fresh myself up for lunch. It was in the early afternoon and we just had luch. It was very akward, After Lianna and the rest of her household had settled in, we all went to the dining hall. We sat down and offcourse my mom set us up across from eachother. We didn't talk for the entire meal, nothing, not a word. Our moms kept chit chatting with each other but Lianna and I ate in silence. I started thinking that I should say something but I couldn't come up with anything... my words got stuck down my throat.
"So in 2 weeks we will be married..."
I looked up and saw her face she tried to smile and look lighthearted but I could feel her pain from deep within. I understood that she felt the same as I did:lost, unshure about the future. She wasn't shure I would be right for her just as much as I didn't know if she was the one for me. But it wasn't our decision... it was our mothers...
