Who am I?

The Mysterious Room

I wake up on a hard steel bed. The pillow was filthy and the covers were ripped. My back was aching badly. I was wearing a black and orange jumpsuit. "What the? Where did this come from?"

I stared down at my black comfy shoes and saw something on the floor: it appeard to be a coffe-stained note. The not was illuminating from the moonlight coming from a small crack in the cement wall. I reached down to pick up the brown crisp note, and felt the coldness rush through my body. It had to be atleast 50 degreese in there.

As I opened up the note, I heard an eerie sound coming from outside the crack. I peered outside of the tiny crack in the cold cement wall, but all I saw was...darkness.

"Hmph, I wonder what that coud've been..." I thought aloud. I stared at the note trying to read what the black text stated. All i could make out of it was "Josaphina".

Who's Josaphina? Is that...me? I couldn't remember one single thing about me, or how I got here. I stared at my jumpsuit and tried to remember anything. Just anything at all. But all I could think of was...nothing.

I stared at the other side of the darkening room wondring what was on the other side. Maybe there was someone else just like...me. "Hello?" I ask the darkness. Nothing. Silenece. All I could hear was the beating of my heart and the pounding of my chest.

As I was sitting, staring off into darkness, I heard a loud, scratchy scream coming from the other side of the cement wall. I got up immenditaley and ran to the wall. I put my ear up on the wall but I heard nothing.

I ran towards the other wall, but I slipped and fell. I hit the ground hear first. My head was throbbing badly and it hurt like hell. I felt my forehead and I felt a big bump on my forehead. Then, i blacked out.

Drip. Drp. Drip. I awoke to moldy brown water filling my mouth. I almost choked to death when I woke up. I spit the "water" onto the stained floor.

Great, I was still trapped in this filthy room. I stood up with all of my might, but i came crashing down to my already bruised knees. "Ouch!" I yellped. "I guess I'm too weak to walk right now." I said, already out of breath.

I crawled on this tile floor that had a stench to it. It smelled like...blood? I crawled to my bed and lifted myself up onto my bed. I looked out of the small crack in the wall and saw the sun rising.

Slowly, but surely. "Yes! I can finially can have light!" I said with all of the exitement left in me. I layed back and twirled my long brown hair between my fingers trying to ignore the pain of my head and knees. Gosh I needed a shower. I smelled like dead fish.

The sunlight slowly filled the dark mysterious room. I looked over to a wall that i couldn't see beore.

I could see a tall, tan, heavy duty wooden door. I tried to make my way over to the door, but I was just too weak. No matter how much i tried, I couldn't. I didn't want to give up, so i decided to give myself a pep talk. Maybe this will help me gather some strength.

"Hey you, 'Josaphina', if that's even my name, we will get through the door before the sunlight goes away. I don't care how long it takes, we will not fail. I am not going to be taking no for an answer young lady. 'Or was I young?'."

After that pep talk I gave myself, I fet as if I was filled with energy. I lifted myself onto my wobbling "jelly-legs", and headed towards the door. I stepped in my water that I spit out earlier. "EW!" I screamed. I put my head forward and kept on heading for the door. After almost 15 minutes, I reached the door.

"Here goes nothing..." I said aloud. Then, I opened the door.
