"Emily Green!"
I walked forward with the rest of the people in line for going on stage and looked behind my shoulder to see all the other seniors in the same graduating class. They were all familiar faces to me but I wasn't one to them; due to my dislike of people in general, I would stay in at lunch in my AP English class with Mr. Rosdale; he was the only person I could tolerate and we became "friends".
The chill of someone's hand pushed me forward realizing I am ten feet away from the person before me and I quickly walked to catch up to them.
"Jack Groat!"
I'M NEXT.
Wondering how much time passed, a lady pushed me up the steps mumbling about something.
"Claudia Hamilton!"
I walked forward not knowing where to go, and looked into the overwhelming crowd, looking for my uninvolved parents that I doubt came, then the principal walked forward with her cheesy smile.
"Congratulations sweetie!" She patted me on the back a little too hard and I continued walking down the stage to get to the steps.
I decided to go home, since I wasn't invited to stupid parties and didn't want to be in a huge crowd of people throwing their caps so I snuck behind the stage and ran; not looking behind me; not worrying about someone catching me; after all, I'm 18 and I can do what I want.
"What do you think you're doing?"
I stopped right in my tracks and didn't have to turn around to see who it was; Mr. Rosdale.
