Brokenstar's Vision

~>Prologue<~

Darkness fell around. A young brown tom paced on the darkened ground below him. There was fear in his eyes. He looked all around him before starting to run and find a way out. But the only thing there was was Black. Only black.

After running many fox-lengths he stopped, trying to catch his breath. For all he knew there was no way out of this nightmare. Many thoughts swirled in his mind. As he tried to open his mouth, nothing came out. All of his words were stuck in his tiny throat.

A deep laughter rippled through this dark place. The tom froze, perking his ears. He claws unsheathed as he started to run again, away from the laughter. With a jolt, he stopped. He had felt the presence following all this time. Slowly turning his head, he looked behind him. No sound came out as his tiny paws scrambled beneath him. But he couldn't run. It was as if he was stuck in place.

There, before him was a cat, bigger than him and muscular with claws as sharp as knives. One eye had a scar, never healed. The eye was fully gray, worn out by years of trying to fix itself. In fact, the presence was almost a full look a like to the tiny kit before him.

The older cat smiled and faded into nothing. The small tom finally moved. His tail under his belly and his eyes wild with fear. As the nightmare faded around him he caught his breath, trying to convince himself that it was all just a bad dream.

He awoke in his nest, a thunderstorm raging outside of the bramble covered nursery. A dark brown shape moved beside him.
"Brokenkit? Is everything all right?" The she cat said. Brokenkit swallowed and nodded slowly.

"It was just a bad dream."

I finally rewrote it :D. I'm hoping I actually won't lose interest this time around. I'm sorry I never post anything, I'll try to be better xD. I drew my own cover for once too. I guess that's all for now.
