"Audie! Audie! It Chwistmas!" screamed my 3-year old sister, Nevaeh. I yawned and rubbed my eyes.
"Did Santa come?" I asked, my voice gravelly from sleep. I opened my eyes to see my sister nodding enthusiastically. I smiled before grabbing my sister's hand.
"Let's go open our presents!" I cheered. Yes, I loved Christmas. Yes, I'm to old to belive in Santa, but, eh? Every kid has to keep atleast one dream alive, right? I ran out of my room and down the stairs.I ran straight to the Christmas tree and started seperating everyone's gifts.
"Audrianne Tailene Smith! Breakfast first then gifts!' My mother called. I groaned befor walking into the dining room sluggishly. I sat down in my usual spot and noticed a small green package by a plate filled with red-tinted waffles.
"May I?" I asked, my fingers itching to tear open the package. My mom nodded while smiling. I let out a whoop of delight before tearing away the paper. After 10 seconds of scrambling to pull the paper away, I revealed a small Nintendo 64 cartridge.
"Majora's Mask?!' I shrieked.
"Gamer geek, much?"grumbled my older sister, Makayla. I shot her a poisoned glare, before turning to my parents.
"May I go play it?" I asked excitedly.
"You heard your mother, Audrianne. Breakfast first." my father said sternly. I fidgeted in my seat, while my mom set out the peanut butter, butter, and syrup. I snatched up the peanut butter and smothered my waffles before drowning them in syrup. My sisters stared at me in disgust as I scarfed my food down. After I finished, I hiccuped slightly before looking up at my parents expectantly. My mother sighed then waved her hands toward the stairs. I chugged my milk, then hopped off the chair, grabbing Majora's mask on the way up the stairs. I ran into my green and black bed room, before plopping into a large black bean bag chair that was in front of my flat screen T.V. I reached forward and gently placed the game cartridge into my ancient Nintendo 64. I waited "patiently" for the game to load. After it had completely loaded, I grinned before going to make a profile. I sighed loudly after seeing that a profile by the name of BEN was already saved. I huffed before noticing how far he was.
Hmm, maybe I'll just leave it. I'll play on it later.
I nodded before creating a new profile. It was a pretty good game for being used, except for the few glitches it had, like how the characters would call me BEN, and it would send me to random places. After about 30 minutes the Elegy of Emptiness statue started to follow me, and Link would just randomly burst into flame. The game continued to glitch, until it just became complete static. I scoffed before reaching behind me for my phone.
"Stupid game." I murmured sadly. I had really high hopes for this game. I heard a deep chuckle, and I spun back around, my heart skipping a few beats. Standing a few feet in front of me was a young man, dressed in a green tunic and a hat like Link's except it brushed the floor. I looked up at his eyes, only to notice that the only thing there were two red pupils, and blood dripping out of them. I watched some of the blood trickle off his chin and drop onto my black carpet.
"You shouldn't have done that..." He said deeply before stabbing me in the stomach with a sword. I screamed in pain before blacking out.
