The man lay on the grass staring at the sky and watching the smoke rise, the man turned the gaze to his burning house, hard to believe the events that had had transpired in less than an hour. thinking back the man barely heard the grunt of one of the three figures that lay around him get up.
*
They had struck in the middle of the night, he had been sitting in a chair infront of the door with a shethed blade across his lap focusing on listning. The man was their for almost an hour before he heard the thud of several feet walking up to the door, upon reaching the door a crude axe with several rigid edges sliced a big hole into the wooden door.
The man slowly raised and unsheethed the blade, under the light from the windows the blade seemed to shine. The sword was a several feet long thin blade with the etching of a fox on one side and an etching of a dragon on the other side. The sword was missing its hilt and instead was covered with several layers of cloth, likely leather. At the bottom of the cloth hilt was a gem seemingly filled with a gold and a silver liquid that didn't mix and seemed to be moving creating patterns of gold and silver.
The man readied the sword by taking it in one hand and positioning it infront of him, gripping it with his right hand and placing his thumb on the dull side of the blade. The man's left hand was positioned slightly above his right shoulder pressed against his neck, a dagger completely identicle to the dagger was being held in his hand. The man had obviously anticipated what would happen that night.
As the door was ripped to shreds by the axe the man was able to get a look at the ones at his door. The figures at his door looked like lizards in the form of men, the skin of the lizzards were combinations of black, brown and green. "Great, they sent Sil'Valim to do their dirty work," the man cursed under his breath as the door came down. The Sil'Valim wore upper armor that covered half of their chest and their left shoulder, their lower armor barely covered down to their knee's and none wore any sort of boots.
One of the lizards, one that seemed a good foot bigger than the already gigantic six foot lizards spoke, "Good, I was hoping for a fight." The large lizard moved to the side as two of the smaller ones rushed to man. One of the lizards swung it's axe at the man who promptly parried the blow with his blade while quickly slashing it's chest with the dagger a few times before evading the other one as it tried to slash him with a crude sword. Quickly moving down to the ground, the man swept the two lizards off their feet and did a back flip, jumping back up as another lizard from the group charged at him with an axe. Evading the swing the man stabbed his dagger into the lizards shoulder, quickly bringing his blade up past his dagger, the man cut off the lizards head and returned into his original fighting stance.
Quickly moving, the man swiftly finished off the two lizards stunned on the ground, "I wouldent expect anything less from the one called the Dual Wielding Terror, Harvester of Souls, the Dragon Blessed, the true Master of Battle." the large lizard shouted before taking a large, crude battle axe in one hand and shouted orders before charging at the man.
The man barely caught a glimpse of several lizards charging into doors parallel on rither side of the room before the giant axe came straight at him and he had to narrowly evade. The man cursed his own idiocy as the lizard swung several more easily evaded strikes. The man should have known two wouldent be enough but slightly smiled as he heard the sound of blades clashing in one of the rooms, quickly jumping back the man swifly discarded the dagger which seemed to disappear apon leaving his hand.
"You seemed well informed lizard," the man continued " I am the Dual Wieilding Terror, the Harvester of Souls, the Dragon Blessed, the one often called the Master of Battle; However you may call me Maldarin."
Maldarin swiftly changed stances, facing one side of his body twords the lizard while keeping the other side away from the lizard. The moonlight shining in from the windows made his mid-lengthed pure black hair seem to change colors, black one second, then brown, then white, the usually narrow and naturally curvex eyebrows of the man seemed to reflect his anger, and the pupils of both his eyes seemed to be perfectly split between gold and green.
"You should feel honored, you anger me with your very existance." the man said as he clenched his free hand, slowly spreading his fingers the man seemed to have flames dance between his fingers. Discarding his sword which also disappeared and dispeling the flames, he clenched his fists and ran twords the lizard.
Maldarin quickly socked the lizard in the eye then quickly kneed it in the stomach before striking it in the chest several times in its chest and did a back flip, kicking him in the chin as he fliped. Wiping the lizard's green blood from his knee the man charged again, this time seemingly disappearing.
The man suddenly reappeared, punching the lizard in the air and jumping up the the same height as the lizard. Suddenly time seemed to have stopped. in the space of what seemed like a second the man's hand seemed to change to claws and began to cut and rake the lizard's skin peeling away layer after layer untill only a mess gore remained. Lookimg at the gore left over from the lixard the man turned his attention to the sound of battle in the main bedroom of the house and quickly walked to the room. Maldarin slightly grinned at the sight that awaited of him.
