GRACES P.O.V

I pushed my hair out of my face and surveyed my work. Not bad, I think to myself. Jess’s jeans were ripped and her blouse was stained with dirt. Her hair was messed up and she had make-up bags under her eyes. She pouted at me.

“Do we really have to do this?” Like asking one more time is going to make me change my mind. I rolled my eyes.

 “YES!!!”

I checked my phone. Argh it was 5 o’clock!

“C’mon Jess we have to go,” I said, grabbing her hand and dragging her downstairs, only pausing to check out my own artfully dirty face in the mirror in the hall. She followed me tiredly. It took us 2 hours to drive to Horden Pavilion, and we needed to be there by 7.

We got to the bus and stepped inside, ignoring the drivers dirty looks about the way we were dressed. I pulled her to the back seat, where she immediately laid her head against the window and fell asleep, her mouth slightly open. Nice.

One hour and forty-five minutes later, I hopped off the bus, practically carrying a protesting Jess in my arms. I set her down on the pavement as the bus sped off. The sun was only just starting to rise, casting a faint light over the pavilion. There were already masses of fans there, and my hopes of being bright and early faded quickly. Still, I started jogging towards the side of the pavilion that faced the driveway where I guessed One Direction would be coming through. Jess seemed to have woken up and was running beside me.

We reached the driveway and were about to slip under the barrier, when Jess tugged my arm and pointed towards the lonely figure of a guard walking towards us. We quickly turned and hid behind a car.

The guard reached here we were standing and stopped, looking visibly confused.  He scratched his head, then turned away and headed back to where he came from. I let out a breath I didn’t know I had been holding.

“That was close,” Jess whispered, all pale and shaky-looking. I patted her arm and ducked under the barrier.

 “Let’s go,”
