"OH SHIT OH SHIT" I yell jumping up and down on the couch in excitement.
"i freaking love Veronica!" my cousin Frida said.
"yeah me too. she's hot. as fuck." Aidan added.
I look over at Aidan because no offense, but as popular as he is, he gets no girls. But who am i to talk right?
DING DONG
"I'll get it." I get off the couch to open the door.
"sup yo" Luke pats me on the back. I ignore it and laugh it off but see someone familiar behind him.
"oh! this is Hayes. Hayes, Lauren. Lauren, Hayes. Hayes , Lauren. Lauren-"
"yeah, i know who this is." Hayes says pushing past me into the house.
"what the fuck do you think you're doing??" I whisper yell to Luke.
"chillax, i'm doing you a favor b."
"no you're not. you're just making my life worst than it is now." I stomp off to the kitchen and see everyone entertained with the tv.
"pst! Frida! Frida!" I quietly yell. I wave my hands up and down to get her attention but she's too caught up in Riverdale. And so is everyone.
I get out my phone and try calling her.
I watch as her phone lights up and she furrows her eyebrows. She looks around and finally sees me hiding behind the wall. I position for her to come immediately and she does so. She already knows something is up...
"what? we're finding out who wrote the -"
"shh!" i interrupt. "first of all, no spoilers. i'll watch it later. and second, if you haven't noticed i'm having a major life crisis right now." I start freaking out.
"life crisis? Calm down Laurie. whatever it is, it's gonna be ok.. you're gonna be fine.. you're ok.." she runs her hands down my arms calming me down as Hayes walks in. We both turn quickly and i turn back around to Frida.
"oh hey guys," Hayes says smiling opening a can of soda. oh goodness, that smile that just makes a girl melt. He leaves the room and i watch Frida freeze.
"oh. that life crisis..." she mumbles.
"EXACTLY WHAT AM I GONNA DO?" I slightly yell.
"ok first of all, why didn't Luke ask for permission to bring someone along. It's always just the 5 of us." Frida rolls her eyes.
"well, idk. He said he was doing me a favor..."
"favor, my ass! If anything it's gonna get you to embarrass yourself in front of him."
"ouch." my heart.
"not like that Laurie. It's just,"
*FLASHBACK*
6th Grade
"Hey Lauren! Wanna play basketball?" Hayes comes over with Luke.
"uhhhhh..." Lauren looks down to see she peed herself. -_-
8th grade
"Hey, do you mind letting me borrow a pencil?" Hayes asks Lauren in math class.
Lauren looks down and is already soaked in peeing herself. once again. -_-
*FLASHBACK OVER*
"aha! and let's not forget that one time at the end of 8th grade when you nearly-" Frida claps her hands.
"ok that's enough!" i grab Frida's hand and drag her into the living room. "Just let me know if you see any wet spots behind me."
She once again laughs hysterically.
"what's up with you?" Anika asks.
"no-noth- AHAHAHAHA" I slap Frida and that gets her to shut up automatically. Everyone turns around to stare but then turn back to the show.
Next Day
"Yo why do we always do movie nights on a school night?" Aidan asks yawning.
"umm, it's not my fault Riverdale comes on every Thursday." (AHA #AD #SPONSORMECW)
"true. with no cable at my house, i wouldn't get to see that hot slice of UGHH" Aidan continues.
"Veronica?" Frida asks. All Aidan does is smirk.
"Luke is coming with Hayes at 5 o clock 5 o clock." i repeat which is the code for 'act normal'.
"it's 12 pm-" Anika punches Aidan.
"Hey guys!" Luke greets all of us. "You guys remember Hayes right?" Luke waits for a response from me.
"yeah yeah, you were, at my house. yesterday." I say awkwardly. Yeah that totally sounds normal Lauren.
"yeah yeah. and also i've been in like all of your math classes since 6th grade." Hayes chuckles.
"oh- hahaha! yeah that's right." I respond once again awkwardly.
"Well, we're gonna go get food. Later!" Luke says. We watch them leave and i turn my head around and bang my head on the table.
"Hey hey hey! girl you did fine. Don't worry, the more you talk to him, the more comfortable you'll be with him. You'll be less awkward." she smiles which doesn't make me feel any better.
"I want him to like me..." I tell her.
