Part of a Pack Again

The sound of my combat boots hitting the pristine white floor echo through the empty hallway. It is 9 in the morning and I am officially three hours late to my new school. Not that it's my fault, though. Who the hell comes to school at 6 AM?

God damn werewolves and their early-to-rise habits.

I'm still on human time and being here now is still a stretch. My old school was so laid back I could enter the property an hour before noon and not be penalized. But now I have to be here and ready to go at six in the morning? Yeah, no.

My eyes roam the grand walls and high ceilings as I try to navigate my way down to the main office. I had flown here and landed on the roof of the grandest building on the campus. After busting open a few doors and going down an infinite amount of winding staircases, I had finally made it to the ground floor without encountering a single soul to ask for guidance. Seriously, not a single person roamed the halls or loitered in the restrooms. It's as if all the students were actually in their classes learning.

Werewolves.

My previous school is the complete opposite of this one. Where this one is clean and modern, my old school was dirty and run down. Instead of dedicated students, my peers were laze around types who didn't think twice about ditching or skipping. Hell, the teachers were so used to the bullshit that they didn't bother to pretend they still cared. My favorite classes were the ones were the teacher stayed glued to their computer without so much as acknowledging the hectic kids in front of them.

But this school...just by walking around I can tell how 'elite' it is. Everything yells rich kids. The feel is completely different too. My body hums in response to the power radiating from its walls. And once in a while, when I passed a classroom, I could sense the powerful wolves inside. My skin tingled in anticipation to confront them, but I forced myself to keep following the signs to the main office.

In all honesty, I couldn't wait to mingle with the crowd here. It's been so long since I've been around any type of mystical being. The humans were fun to play with, but they never quite quenched my thirst. They were so dull in terms of power. Some had traces of otherness in their blood, but that is nothing compared to the onslaught of purebloods in this hallway alone. The smell, the aura, the attitude, everything is so deliciously prominent.

My power is anxious to fool around.

A loud shrill fills the air and a moment later bodies start swarming into the hall. I don't slow my stride, but take in their prim and proper white uniforms that were probably designed by some state of the art fashion expert and worth more than a years salary. My black jeans, concert T, and leather jacket with spiked shoulders stood out like a sore thumb and instantly it was as if all eyes were on me. I don't kid myself, though, the whole school probably knew I was here from the moment I soared over the campus gates. It's going to take me a while to get used to super human scent, sight, and instincts again.

Feeling the wolves behind closed doors and actually being in front of them was completely different. My tense shoulders relaxed and soft ripples of my power rolled off them and into the crowd, trying to get a feel of those around me. A smile stretches across my lips at what it finds. Mostly regular old minions, but twenty feet behind me was someone in the court. And 100 yards to my left, someone that had to be the Alpha. There were more power-drenched bodies here and there, but the one closest and the Alpha peaked my interest. I'm almost tempted to spin on my heel and size up the male just a mere 20 feet away.

But through the crowd of unnaturally beautiful gawking teenagers I see a big gold lettered sign hanging from the ceiling. "Main Office."

I sidestep a group of teased blond hair, tight shirt, high skirt girls who had marched toward me with pouting lips and end my long journey to the main office.
