When I follow Uncle Matt out of the main office there were still students loitering the hall. Most in the vacinity were either looking at me or pretending not to look at me. I smile and wave at the lot of them, catching them off guard.

The three blonds I had ignored earlier were waiting against the wall and when they see me they puff up and stride toward us. Their wolves weren't anything to be impressed about, not compared to the Alpha or my uncle, but the fact they were here meant they were powerful. The one in front had blue eyes and long and voluptuous hair that is tied half up. She is as pretty as the two girls at her sides, but the scowl on their faces ruined the ethereal beauty they had going on for them.

"Hello again." I greet before they can get a word in. I lean in and take a long sniff of the main girl. She had traces of pureblood in her, but wasn't one herself. She jerks back in shock and I right myself, glancing further down the hall. She had the scent of a male not too far away. "Ah, your mate?" I question pointing at the hunk of muscle making his way toward us. "He's cute." I concede as he towers over the back of the trio. Had she given out a distress signal? I give him a salute and turn back to Uncle Matt who was watching me amused. "Where to first?"

"I didn't realize you had made any friends." Uncle Matt says and I shrug.

"They had tried to talk to me, but I was in a rush so I breezed on by." I explain. "I'm glad that what comes around goes around. Now they can get in their piece."

"Dean, who is this...girl?" The main girl demands having regained her composure. The way she said 'girl' made it clear she knew I wasn't a werewolf.

"Aooohh." I howl quietly, letting her know I caught her drift. She gives me a look, but turns her attention back to Uncle Matt.

"No humans are allowed here." She continues.

"Not human." I pipe in and Uncle Matt places a hand on my head, gently shoving it down. A sign to keep quiet.

"She isn't a human." Uncle Matt repeats my statement. "She's my niece and this is her first day here. I hope you'll all treat her kindly." It sounded more like a threat than a friendly suggestion.

"Your niece?" One girl demands.

"She's a new student!?" Another cries.

"The exams were three months ago." The main girl says quietly. When I glance up her fists were clenched. "The semester began three weeks ago. There can't be a new student. No one told-"

"The Apha knows, if that's where you're going." Uncle Matt cuts her off. "He approves."

She quiets up and glares at me. I raise an eyebrow wondering if she was brave enough to challenge me in front of my uncle. Already he was giving off overprotective vibes that surprised, but comforted me. No one has looked out for me in a long time.

"Yes, Dean." She finally says before turning and stomping down the hallway. Her minions follow her along with the male she reeked of. Students had watched the exchange, but a bell sounds and they return to their class rooms.

"What a welcome." I say breaking the silence. I turn my head to Uncle Matt and he gives me an apologetic smile. "Very cliche."

"They're not bad kids." Uncle Matt says continuing down the hall. "They're just very...privileged. They have to go through extensive testing and challenges every year in order to keep their spots in this school, in this town. So to have you suddenly show up..." He trails off.

"I get it, I get it." I wave it off easily. "No hard feelings here."

"Good. Because you belong here." Uncle Matt pats my head.
