Alpha chase called for all the young pups for there first training session.
Wolves start training to fight and defend the pack at a young age. This is my second year because my father is the alpha and he wanted me to learn how to fight early.
He actually wanted a son but with his terrible luck he got stuck with a daughter.
His frustrated glare turned on me.
"Jamey! Meet me in my office! I need to have a word with you."
This meant very bad things. He appears to be a good alpha. But others have not seen his diabolical side behind closed doors.
But as I approached the office doors and closed them behind me, a fist connected with my jaw and everything blacked out.
I woke up sweating and panting.
As I wiped my face, tears and smeared mascara from not being able to wash it off were smearing down my face and creating dark circles under my eyes.
The wipperwills echoed along the forest floor from high above the tree tops and the nocturnal animals started to hide back in their burrows because dawn was soon to approach.
Being close to the forest always seemed to bring both my wolf and I some comfort.
My senses were on high alert as a twig snapped behind me. A growl erupted from that general area and I prepared myself for a fight.
Spinning around as fast as I could, a beautiful chocolate brown wolf with dark ocean eyes stared back at me. An aroma of Pine and cedar wood enveloped my senses as I realized what he was.
This wolf is my mate.
So I turned the other way and I ran.
His growls echoed across the forest floors making my wolf whimper in my head.
'He's our mate, we shouldn't be running from him,' star, my wolf said.
"I'm not running from him. I'm running from his rejection!" I cried out as I jump and shifted in midair. Then off again I went as I ran faster than before.
His howls could no longer be heard and I imagine I am miles from the last camp sight.
I rustled out my grayish/silver fur and stopped at a small stream along a meadow. This is where I have decided to camp this evening. I should be long out of his reach by tomorrow morning because I'm sure he stopped to camp as well.
Sleep never came. I was restless. I'm sure that had something to do with a certain blue eyed wolf.
Sleep finally came as the moon began setting. It was sure to be a restless sleep.
This memory began the same as all the others because this is all the alpha would ever let me do. I trained and as I looked out the training hall doors, I saw other pups running, screaming, laughing, and smiling as they played in the tall grass and chased each other around.
"Pay attention! You have work to do!"
That's all my father ever said unless he was telling his daughter how useless she was.
I bit back my growl as best I could but my alpha genes would not allow this and it slipped out.
He turned towards me, his eyes completely black and backhanded me before I came face to face with the ground.
I sat up panting again, as usual and saw a small fire near me that put me on high alert for the hundredth time this evening. A boy around seventeen approached the tree line carrying a stack of wood.
He had the same boyish grin and blue eyes as the wolf and as he got closer I realized, he has the same sent as well.
I shifted back into my wolf form for the simple fact that I had no spare clothing and I may need to fight my way out of this one.
He realized that I was awake and he dropped the stack of wood as he ran to me.
"Please! Don't leave. You have no idea how long I've been waiting to find you."
As he got closer I noticed his brown hair had a tint of red to it and his blue eyes were like ice in the middle and faded out to an ocean blue.
"My names Zander. What's yours'?"
