After three years of Marriage, Victor had an idea. He thought it was time for him and his husband to adopt someone.
"Yuri, I been thinking for a long time." He said while Yuri was setting down their dinner. He gave him a worried look.
"We should get Yurio a sibling." He continued. Yuri breathed a sigh of relief and nodded. They looked at their son, Yurio, who was asleep on the couch. "I'm just not sure if Yurio wants someone else here. Also, we're both working. I'm not sure if we have time to have another child. We're lucky Yurio is working like us." Victor agreed with him and replied, "It was just a thought. We might have to think about it more."
In another town, the oldest child in the orphanage, Destiny, was in the dining hall by herself. At the age of sixteen, she would be considered the unwanted. She went from foster home to foster home, unable to find someone to adopt her.
"Destiny, you should be outside with everyone else." One mother scolded. She nodded and got up from the chair. "No wonder no one wants you, you're not sociable." She mumbled.
The sakura trees outside the building has their branches swaying as the wind blew. Destiny took a deep breath and sighed. "She's right, I can't be adopted. It's almost impossible actually."
She picked up a rock and threw it at the building. "Damn elders, I can leave here in two years!" She yelled. She looked at the road and saw a man walking the street. He looked at her and smiled. She gritted her teeth and walked away.
Victor came back from his walk and Yuri greeted him. "Did you know about an orphanage not far from here?" He asked. Yuri froze and replied, "I do, and I used to walk by it all the time. Did you see someone from there?"
"Why are you idiots talking about an orphanage for?" Yurio asked while opening the door. They froze and Victor smiled, "There's a chance you're going to have a sibling." Yurio dropped his jaw and asked, "A sibling? What are you getting at Victor?" He shrugged his shoulders and replied, "I said it was a chance. I was thinking about it for a while and I knew there's children that need a home. We have one to offer." Yuri stood there in awe at his husband and nodded with agreement.
Destiny looked at the book in her hand and set it down on the nightstand next to her. "Older sister, when are you going to get adopted?" A young girl asked. She half smiled and said, "I don't need to get adopted."
She faced away from her and sighed. I don't need anyone here, she thought.
She looked around and forced her eyes shut.
Yuri was looking out the window and Victor placed his hand on his shoulder. "Yuri, it's getting late. We both have to work tomorrow." Yuri nodded and stood up. Victor pecked his cheek and they held hands to their bedroom.
