Mike POV

I awake inside of the holding cell, my bed barely comfortable enough to catch any sleep at all. They say they will let me go today. I hope they'll let me see Jess. I walk over to the bars and peer through. The clock in the corner reads 7:16. I make eye contact with the officer at the desk and he slowly makes his way down a hall to the right. I hope he's going to get someone to let me out, I couldn't stay another night in this bed. Like sleeping on bricks. I watch as the man comes back with a key and unlocks my cell door.

'Detective Maguire wishes to speak with you before you leave, Mr Monroe' he says, pointing me down the hallway 'turn right and its at the end of the hallway.'

'Thanks' I reply walking down the hall. Detective Maguire? Must be that woman from before. I turn right and head towards an open door at the end of the hall, that woman from before sat a desk inside.

'Take a seat Mr Monroe' she says sternly as I walk into the room.

'Am I free to go?'

'Indeed. I'm afraid without further evidence we have no choice but to release you, but I can assure you this will not be the last time we meet.' Her words come off cold and threatening. She's clearly still convinced I had something to do with this.

'Thanks...' I say sarcastically, getting up from my seat and turning to leave

'Before you go Mr Monroe, I've been asked to inform you that you are not to attempt to visit Miss Riley, her condition is unstable and it is crucial this is dealt with immediately by professionals.' I turn back and stare angrily

'What do you mean I can't see her. She needs me, she-' she cuts me off.

'Dr Hills orders, Mr Monroe, now please head back to campus, you don't want to miss anymore school do you?' I reluctantly give up and head out of the room, my right fist clenched tight. It would be hopeless to try and argue, I just hope that Dr Hill is as good as he sounds. I walk out of the building and begin making my way down the pavement,  it would be a good 30 minute walk to campus, though I reckon I could run it in 10. I don't bother trying to though.

Matt POV

I make my way out of the coffee shop, Emily beside me.

'Matt, you have got to see this new sweater I bought when we were in town yesterday, it goes so well with those jeans you saw me try on.' She says happily. We had spent most of the afternoon shopping yesterday. I only bought a new pair of trainers and some Jeans, yet once again I ended up carrying 6 bags of designer clothes for Em. She's probably only going to wear the same two outfits and leave the others in her wardrobe.

'Those were some nice Jeans' I say in an attempt to please her.

'Oh please, you just liked staring at my ass in them.' She's not wrong.

'Hey, who was the one that made me try on that tank top?'

'You looked pretty hot in it, I don't know why you didn't buy it'

'Well unlike someone I know, my parents aren't rich' I say jokingly 'hey I've got to head of to practise, I'll text you when I get out'

'Yeah, kick ass out there' she says as she pulls me in for a goodbye kiss. I can taste her cherry lipstick. I jog my way over to the football field locker rooms. As I walk in I notice I'm one of the first ones there.

'Matt, my star striker, I heard what happened, you going to be alright out there?' I hear a familiar voice say behind me. I turn around to see coach Vance standing behind me. He stands nearly head and shoulders above me, which has always made me feel intimidated. Who would have guessed he's actually one of the nicest and caring teachers on campus?
