Great! This is just great! I just had to get myself cornered again. I thought that with my back pressed up against a damp and moldy wooden wall. A few feet in front of me stood a man, no a mutant with a gun pointed at my chest. This mutant looked to be in his early thirties with short black hair he wore a business suit which was drenched in sweat and blood stains, he would actually look human if you looked past the scaly green legs which could be seen under his torn pants, the wild yellow eyes, and the snake tongue. This mutant was a creature which went by the name of Naga, which was in fact a snake type hybrid. The Naga that stood in front of me was only about half transformed which meant he was only a class 4. There are only 9 classes of mutants, class 1 meaning friendly or passive to a class 9 which is seen as dangerous or destructive. The class 4 half transformed Naga that stood in front of me is seen as pretty moderate, but if he chooses to fully transform he would easily spike up to class 7. A fully transformed Naga will have a large and long python tail which could easily suffocate a man while breaking every bone in his body. In a weird way, I was lucky, lucky that the Naga hadn't transformed, otherwise I would already be dead.
Evelyn, the gun isn't loaded. Jennifer's voice suddenly rang in my head. Jennifer was one of the people In the hunting and tagging team that I assigned to by AMTC (America's Mutant Tagging Corporation). Not only was Jennifer part of my team, but she along with her husband Chris, who was also apart of the team, are my adopted parents. Twelve years ago, when I first found out about my powers, Jennifer and Chris where the people assigned to set out and tag me. After I was brought to AMTC, I was classified as a class 9 mutant, which means I am one of the strongest and most dangerous mutants out there.
Once I was classified as a class 9, the corporation wanted to lock me up, but instead Jennifer and Chris stepped forward stating that they wanted to claim and raise me as their own, after many conferences AMTC agreed to the arrangement. One would probably be wondering why a mutant tagging corporation would allow a mutant to join a tagging team, well the reason why is because the corporation itself was also made up of mutants. Mutants and humans worked together to help protect civilians from finding out just what type of beings they share their world with, otherwise this world would be in complete chaos. AMTC job was to track, tag, and clean up after mutants to make sure no human could find out that these creatures exist. If a mutant has done no wrong and are not classified as dangerous, they are tagged and offered a job at AMTC, if they refuse the offer, they are let go but they are still tracked and must check into AMTC yearly. If a mutant harmed or killed a human, or are classified as dangerous, they are permanently locked up.
One would probably be wondering, If you're so strong how did you get cornered by a class 4 mutant? Well the reason why is cause I am not allowed to kill my assignments, which means I can't really use my powers unless its necessary.
A smile spread across my face, "How are you supposed to shoot me, when you don't have any bullets?" I asked smugly. This had made the mutant stiffen In shock and his eyes widened. How did she know? Was the horrifying question that spread across his face. The mutant's shocked reflex gave me the opportunity to give a round kick strait to his chest, this movement sent the mutant flying out of the small shack that he had trapped me in moments ago. The mutant landed sprawled on his back in a small pile of leaves just outside the door opening, this gave me just enough time to get out of the shack and away from the smell of black mold. Once out of the shack, I saw that the mutant had returned to his feet.
"Your going to pay for that little girl!" The Naga had hissed out angrily.
"Little girl?! I'm a young woman for your information!" I spat.
"Really? I couldn't tell." The Naga said taunting.
Blood rushed to my cheeks in embarrassment and anger, "Your so lucky that I can't kill you." I said trough gritted teeth.
