~two~H I M
We hunger. Reaching up I rubbed my temple wearily, agitation tracing my movements as I attempted to regain my lost concentration. It doesn't help at all. Letting out a sigh of irritation I glanced up meeting the uneasy gazes of those who surrounded the table. They shared a glance with each other before looking back at me as the prickly oder of nervousness floated off them in waves irritating my nose. I breathed deeply, holding it for a few seconds, just like Cobi taught be before letting it go my agitation clear in the way my eyes tore across the table. It's not going to work. "What?" They tensed minutely but remained silent, they knew who I was talking to, but they couldn't relate. Giving a hazy blink my thoughts began to slip into warm rays as the scent of butterscotch and sunflowers tickling my senses. See? Jolting upright I blinked harshly, the room coming back into focus as a growl vibrated through my chest. They traded looks but remained silent. "Either someone answers my questions and quickly or you will all be dealt with."
They each swallowed deeply before Aasir leaned forward his pupils dilated so wide that they almost consumed the green that lay a thin rim surrounding them. His arms quivered and flexed before he swallowed feverishly, my jaw tightened as I surveyed the room once more before resting my heavy gaze on him lazily "Alpha, the Succubi were making their usual rounds of feeding. And the one with the human spouse..." he tapered off but looked u at me expectantly.
Frowning I stretched my neck as I gestured for him to continue "Alexander yes, what about him. What has he done now?" But that's not really what you care about, is it? My jaw clenched tense again and there was silence for a few more seconds as Ethan continued to observe me. I nodded for him to continue, face no doubt tight.
"W-well" he cleared his throat. "he was in the airport feeding." Aasir stopped abruptly and breathed in deeply pupils widened again blowing up almost consuming the pearly whites of his eyes. He was young and it was consuming him, that much I could see, I leaned forward to grasp his shoulder but was beaten to the punch by Malakai. Aasir took a deep breath as Malakai's hand lazily pushed through his mess of blond curls, his now green eyes locked firmly on the table as his shoulders tensed. Malakai watched him for a few beats as his towering figure cradled him for a few moments before his lazy gaze made it's way back towards me.
I arched an eyebrow expectantly, "Yes?" it was very rarely that Malakai had something to say, but when he did it was always something worth hearing.
"-We caught a scent Alpha." His face set in a stern line and his once lazy dark eyes serious. "It smelled like butterscotch a-"
"-and sunflowers" I finished standing up, now they had my absolute attention. The memory of the scent finally leaving my mind as I caught myself before I released a rumbling purr. Mine. Ours. I closed my eyes and waited, but nothing else came. Opening my eyes I looked at everyone around the table the air of irritation that had previously hung over me like a storm melting away before I looked back towards Malakai. "Continue."
"It's not that smell that stuck out to us," he continued, "They pass through the airport hourly and as a result do require a license to do so. But the butterscotch... we think it might be an Alpha Female."
Eyes flickering between those seated at the table I had to ask "Well... where is she? Who is she? Is she a threat?" I rubbed my forehead in frustration. Of all the times and places for an Alpha female to arrive, she chooses here and now. I sunk back into my seat, my hand resting gently against the arm of my chair, limp.
"That's just Alpha." It was Kwame who spoke this time. "We only caught the scent off of Alexander." My grip tightened on the arm of my chair sending cracks up the wood and creating splinters under my fist. Kwame didn't even flinch as he continued. "But it wasn't strong enough to suggest that he made physical contact with her."
Tension slowly started to seep out of my body. And I begun to rub my temple once more as the headache that had previously dulled to a small ebb returned full throttle. I considered my options for a few moments, as I started at all of them silently before continuing. "Do you know where she coming from?" I frowned and grit my teeth "Or where she was going?"
The relaxed collectively creating a domino effect as they assumed the worst was over. They were wrong. "Her scent strength suggests she was coming here from the London." Aasir smiled weakly "We've begun tracking her scent and we've sent Chelsea to Alexander to 'ask some questions.'"
I turned to Arun, "Can the nightwalkers watch her?" he gave a terrifying grin, his silver eyes shining as his pupil shrinking to a pinpoint.
"Most diligently."
"Good, while your at it get your brother to gather two or three daywalkers to go to the Embassy to inform them of their little alpha female and get her age to see if she's a lawbreaker."
