Reliving The Past

I have to admit it was fun for once, waking up making my own food. I had no mother to tell me to pick up the house, clean my room, do the dishes, or just get up in general.

I did it for 3 days straight.

 What did I do?

Honestly nothing!

I just watched tv, took a shower,  ate and went to bed, every single day.

It was quite, except for the occasional thud of the mail sliding through the mail slot and falling to the ground.

At first I thought she just left to go to finally work or something, but after a day you'd think someone was gone.

I still had that glimmer of hope that she would come back though, I guess you could say that after today ended (the third day of her being gone) I was very pissed with her snarky actions. I was her son! She didn't say goodbye! She didn't call! She left no note! She left no sign of her leaving either.

I got up from the couch my body figure remained imprinted in it as I stood. There refrigerator was empty as I opened it no one had been shopping since they left. It wasn't a surprise, seeing as it was a regular thing that nobody ate anything I guess, so there was no point in having food that would go bad.

I checked the cupboards for anything.

Ugh! Just in my luck nothing either.

I sighed as I walked out of the kitchen and up the stairs to my bed room.

On the way I walked past her bedroom, the door was cracked,  so naturally I decide to take a step in.

It was quite messy actually, clothes thrown everywhere, CDs thrown across her desk, a laptop under her pillow, and oddly enough, a plate of cookies still on her nightstand, with one bite taken out of a cookie.

I guess mom never thought to come into Gemma's room after that accident?

 I mean who would...?

I looked through her book shelf a tiny piece of paper stuck out the end on the very top shelf.

I stood in the sill of the window and pulled it out jumping onto the floor with a light 'thud'. I opened it, it read

"Dear Liam,

I know you always loved cookies ,so I left you some on the nightstand just until you decide to come around when I'm not home. Enjoy them when you have the time.

Hope to see you soon xx

Gemma&Harry"

My tears welled at the thought, we were teenagers yet we still spoke to this imaginary figure we called "Liam", It just carried through the years and we'd always write letters to him hoping he's read them.

I guess you could say Liam was more fond of Gemma seeing as he only ever came around for her when we were growing up.

But that changed once we started growing.

I laid back on her bed staring at the ceiling.

It was dark out one of those nights where Gemma, her friends and I would decide to  go outside and sit around a camp-fire with some friends, maybe even camp outside.

As soon as they left though, everyone showed us pity and just gave me sad looks maybe even a single tear.

I walked out of her room taking the note with me and shutting then door.

I stuffed the note in my pocket and went to sit on the couch watching the Telly.

Just as I began to doze off I heard a very harsh banging on the door....What in the world?
