My eyes are set on the door anticipating for father to barge in, but every time I hear the clock ticks, I loose hope. The television has been on for about two hours now, and at the corner of my eyes I can see Paul observing me.

"He won't come Liam" Paul kills the silence in the space.

My head tilts to see him leaning against the kitchen countertops as he blankly gaze at me. I have been completely hushed ever since we arrived home. My plan is dashed all because of mercy.

"Why are you even waiting for him?" He asks

I watch him take large strides before occupying the space next to me. His brown eyes scrutinizing my response.

"I just want to know why they came," I confess. My palm presses against both of my cheeks before deeply sighing. I unhurriedly let my hand hang between my parted legs. "Unless he didn't trust me"

I know I shouldn't be bothered because I am the only person father has in his life now. I call to mind about the story of their brotherhood. He said they were abandoned after he was born; George my biological father was the oldest providing him the foremost care and love. That is why father is motivated on seeking retribution regarding on my biological father's execution.

"He trust you Liam," Paul comforts me.

His words of solace are easing trough my blood. However, I still can't help but get distress towards the topic.

"He's allowing you to prove yourself that you can kill the next target" Paul adds at the same time I rise from my seat.

For a second, I feel the outrage surge through my vein regarding on his statement. It's eerie because I have never felt like this. Is it because of the scheme my father organized over the years? I asked myself.

"Cory Smith" I remember William's words.

Paul keeps his eyes away from me as I glance at him. I can't help but question myself from his action. He only avoided me when he wants to keep something from me.

"Who is he?" I question.

Knowing Paul, he has probably sifted through every single detail relating to Cory Smith.

"Liam"

The uncertainty is visible on his tone as he pronounces the word.

"Why are you talking me out now?" I inquire.

He glances at me with regret before picking himself up. His gaze is sending me all the mixed emotions he is feeling. I have the full knowledge of what reason why he suddenly felt it. The devastating accident must be racing through his mind, and I wish I can take it away because I don't want him to feel the same way he exactly felt during he was interfacing the tragic incident.

"I'm just worried, " he replies

The loud noise from the door intervenes our conversation. The familiar figure come into sight, followed by his 'back up'. I deposit all my attention to father as he ambles towards me. His eyes were set with me and it feels like it never want to leave me.

"Yes, Paul, why don't you tell us about Cory" Father tells him.

I watch him as he perches on the couch. I look away quickly as Zayn clears his throat. I still do not like him.

"He," Paul halts and walks towards the couch. He takes a seat before proceeding. "Ford Dagenham is the largest diesel engine in the world and it is possessed by Cory Smith"

The room goes hush as I deliberate for a plan. I have to admit that he would be a tiresome target since he is employed on a dissimilar business.

"Liam," Father finally breaks the quietude. "You know your job"
