This story you are about to hear, is a story of love, the classic love between a boy and a girl. A story of loss, that cannot separate the both. And a story of hope, hope for the future. Grief of loss, something that cannot be replaced. This story might leave you laughing, crying, even begging for more. This is all you get, for it's too painful for me to recall. My story, me and hers, will be remembered, by someone. I hope it stays in your heart forever.

Today is the day my life will change. This day, will be the deciding factor of my life. If I don't, my whole life will be at stake.I have to try my hardest this year. It's my senior year of high school.

All my years of high school have been a blur. I would frequently skip school, but my dad doesn't care. He's never cared. All he cares about is things, objects, whatever he is addicted to right now, and not me. On some occasions, I would go to school, but rarely.

My friend, Mason, would sometimes skip with me. We were 'the troublemakers' of the school. We were feared, but we liked that. We didn't mind not having friends. We didn't mind getting bad grades.

Sometimes, people try to end our ways, like our student leadership president, Rachel. Oh boy does she get mad when we knock over the garbage cans, which isn't even a huge deal! What did we do to her?

Ok, we did get on her bad side once, when we sabotaged her council meeting. But, it only was a small prank! Even though, she was angry!

My alarm clock rang at 5:30 a.m today, like usual school days. The floor creaks under my feet as I get out of bed and turn off my alarm. I sneeze from all the dust piling up. I get changed into my white polo shirt and khakis, and I hear my stomach growl. I see my small keyboard in the corner, dusty and untouched. I ignore it and walk to the kitchen for breakfast I see my dad passed out on the floor, bottles of alcohol surrounding where he rests. The floor is covered in bottles, and shattered glass. I hate him, I really hate him.

I continue my walk to the fridge, and find that we are almost out of food. Well, it's not like my dad can go to the market in the condition he's in. He's hardly ever sober anymore. He drinks until he crashes. We survive on money my grandparents give us. He still works some days, but gets fired in the span of a week or two.

I close the fridge and decide to head to a cafe for breakfast. I get my wallet, and find that there isn't much in it, probably only enough for a cup of cheap coffee. I go to my dad and find his wallet laying beside him. I take a bit of spare change. Ok, a lot of it. I took fifty dollars out of his wallet and put it in mine. That was basically all he had. Well, he won't have any money to spend on liquor for awhile. That's a good thing.

I put my sneakers on and start to head out the door.

"Leaving so soon Zane?" I turn around and see my dad look at me confused, his eyes musky and tired. At times like these, I just want to strangle him.

  "Yeah" I say look away.

"Oh, well, have a good day at school." He says to me and grins. I turn to him. Disgusting

"Yeah. Bye." I say and walk out of the house.

I closed the door and stood at the door for a while. Dad seemed like his usual self, but, something was sketchy about him though. He seemed, almost, a bit kinder to me.That can't be. I'm just seeing things, and hearing things, I guess.

Nearing the cafe, I see a cat. A little black one. Well, luck, I guess. I approach the cat with curiosity. There aren't usually stray cats around here.

"Hey little guy," I whisper reaching my hand slowly to pet his head. He backs away, and with intense speed, he claws at my hand, with no second thought.
