“ Morning mark!”

I rolled my eyes as I dropped my spoon into the bowl of cereal, the milk splashing up onto the counter as my head turned around and landed on the glowing girl that was now walking through the apartment, wearing only a long baseball shirt, hair tied up in a messy bun.

God I hated her sometimes.

“ Eh” I mumbled and she didn’t lose the smile as she skipped toward the counter, a tall man following along behind her, my skin suddenly starting to crawl. He had light blonde hair and deep blue eyes, though they were as cold as ice…to me anyway. He gave me a small smile and waved; and I returned the gesture with a raised eyebrow and raised middle finger, to which Sarah did not see.

“ I hope we didn’t keep you up to late” Sarah smiled as she grabbed Chris’s coat for him, my stomach churning.

“ No later than last time” I glared and Sarah blushed as Chris slipped on his coat, gently weaving his arm around her waist, my eyes blinking. He leant down and kissed her cheek quickly, Sarah hugging him before she opened the door, me silently making choking faces behind their backs.

“ See you tomorrow” Sarah smiled as she closed the door, ducking as I threw my spoon at her.

“ Tomorrow! I live here too you know!” I cried and she rolled her eyes as she tottered to the fridge, pulling out the water.

“ I am aware of this. Why else do I find men’s cologne in my bathroom?” she asked and I stood up, tossing my bowl into the sink before I grabbed my bag and books, snatched my scarf off the counter.

“ Text me and let me know when he’s here.” I sighed, kissed her cheek and opened the door, Sarah grinning.

“ I love you!”

I slammed the door and gave the air a small smile. She was damn lucky I loved her so much.

The train doors slid closed and I just got in, a small smile creeping onto my lips. I was getting better at this. I looked up and down the cart and I was about to move along to sit down when a hand touched my shoulder and I spun around, my voice flying away.

“ Mark”

Luke smiled at me with his white teeth and for a moment I was lost. His curly hair fell into his shining eyes, a beanie on top. He was wearing a tight grey jacket and black skinny jeans, a scarf wrapped tightly around his neck. Compared to him, I looked like a train wreck.

“ Morning.” I eventually got out and he leant back against the pole he’d been holding onto, just watching me as I struggled to hold my books as we sped along the tracks.

“ You look tired. Friend keep you up all night?” he asked and I blinked. Had he actually remembered?

“ Um… yeh they did actually” I nodded and he sighed, sticking his hands in his pockets.

“ Mine too. They’re in a band. So they spend all their waking and sleeping hours up in my studio practising” he smirked and I saw his eyes light up with something as he said this.

“ Studio?”

“Art studio. I’m an art student but I managed to buy a small studio up in the city, though it doesn’t have a nice view so I have to get my inspiration from my ride to and from there” he smiled and I looked around the train. There were plenty of lovely women catching the public transport. There were also quite a few laughing children and one sleeping old man which I’m sure, if painted, would attempt to murder the artist with his walking stick.
