I was asked to write a poem about lost things but what does lost mean
Is it forgetting where something is
Or avoiding something till you cant find it
Is it lost or forgotten
Is it lost or changed
Is it lost or gone
Lost can mean different things at different times
Age 5 a toy
Age 10 a friend
Age 15 The boy
Age 20 neighborhood
Age 25 the dream job
Age 5
The toy I loved
It was a dove
Who wore a glove
But was shoved
Above
Age 10
We said friends forever
More like friends for never
She was so clever
Age 15
He was a boy
Not a toy
And said ahoy
He did annoy
Age 20
I am in not in my neighborhood
It is good
Unlike firewood
I understood
The sisterhood
Of the neighborhood
Age 25
I applied for a job
The boss was a snob
His name was bob
He made me sob
But I am 13
Kind of mean
Unlike green
And I have seen
Many things come and go
Friends or so I though
Toy that I bought
But I have been taught
Things come on go a lot
