'Charlie!' I heard my mother scream as my eyes opened to the sound of my alarm clock.
It was my first day back in school and had been dreading it since the minute school ended before summer. I never really liked anything about school; people, work, facilities, and there was only one highlight of my day....everyday.
As I hurried to get out of my bed and strip out of my used and worn pyjamas, I heard something outside of the room. Just as I stopped to hear what was going on a little better, my mum strolled in looking stressed and told me off for getting out of bed later than I should, which was a ritiual.
She told me off once again and went off to wake my little brother up. I continued to take off my clothes and walked into the bathroom that was built into my room. I hopped into the shower, turned the knob and started with washing my hair.
When I got out, I realised I hadn't got that much time to figure out what I was going to wear, so I threw a jumper and matching tracksuit bottoms on. I never cared what people in my school thought of me since I never talked to anyone, but like any other teenage girl, I got conscious at times.
I ran down the stairs to find my mum had made me toast with nutella, and so I ate a slice on the way to the car. I walked out the door and saw my brother in the front of the car. As he saw me he told me to get in the rear of the car but I refused. ''Lucas, I told you as soon as she came, get in the back, now hurry up.'' my mother said as I opened the passenger door.
I got in the car and we headed to mine and Lucas' secondary school. We never fought or talked, especially in school. He was in the year below me and was quite popular, the complete opposite of me which I was always envious of.
When we reached school I took my heavy schoolbag from beneath me, got out of the car and told my mum goodbye and I love you. She told us the same thing and to be optimistic about the day.
''Well, I guess I'll see you later Charlotte, bye.'' said my brother as he walked off to his clique of friends.
''Yeah, see you later bro, good luck!'' I replied.
