Harrys POV*

Our fingers interlock as she leans into my arm. I lean my head onto her light brown waves while we look at the tide washing up onto the sand, my mind drifts off to all of the places I want to take her. Every beach, every amusement park, every small town diner that I can find.

Kaite hums a small tune against my shoulder that I can't make out, but it starts to annoy me.

I lift my head to silence her. As I raise my head, the soft, light waves on her head start to turn a deep shade of black. My brows knit together in confusion. The song she once hummed quietly grew louder as she turned to face me.

Her features started to twist until I realized who I was looking at. I jump up to my full height leaving her sitting on the sandy blanket. I cover my ears as she rises now screaming the soft lyrics into my face.

"Erica, stop!" I try to yell over her song but at this point the song is completely unrecognizable. I try to push her away but she doesn't move.

"NO,NO,NO!" I swallow hard once again completely confused. It doesn't sound like Erica anymore it sounds like, Kaite. Kaite!

I jump awake breathing heavy with sweat making my curls stick to my forehead. Frantically I look around my room for her when suddenly I hear a loud whimpering coming from the kitchen. I jump from the bed throwing the tangled sheets to the floor.

As I walk into the kitchen area, Kaite sits cross legged on the tiles with no expression on her face. In between her fingers are her journal and a lighter. Cautiously I step closer to her sitting next to her. We sit silently for a few minuets until she finally looks up at me still no sign of life behind her eyes.

"She called." She said so silently I barely heard her. I nodded not sure if she was going to continue or not. Once again she stared down at her lap where she held the two objects.

"What do you have there?" I asked already knowing the answer, I just needed to hear her talk more than a few words, I need to know if she's ok.

I'm out of luck when she silently holds up the book and lighter. But this time she doesn't put them down in her lap.

"This needs to go." A crease forms in between her eyebrows as she studies the old book, running her fingers across the tattered leather cover. She places the hot pink lighter at her side to hold the journal in both hands.

Biting her lip slightly she opens to a page in the middle of the book. Emotion suddenly filling her eyes as tears form at the edges of her eyes.

"What am I thinking?" She shakes her head still not allowing tears to fall. I'm still not sure of what's going on but I don't want her to get upset with me, or cry again if I ask.

She closes her eyes and takes a deep breath before shoving the lighter into her front pocket and sliding over to where I sit.

Kaite's POV*

I let my anger take control of me again as the thought of my mom wanting to speak to me after all this time sank into my head. After I threw my fit I just calmed down completely, my face was blank I could feel it. Especially by the way Harry was studying my eyes hopelessly. I opened the book to simply get angry enough to actually burn the thing. But of course, the first page I opened to was the entry that Amy and I had worked on.

I look over at harry but he doesn't look me in the eyes probably waiting for some kind of reaction. I try to smile as I pulled his chin to look at me.

"It's fine, I'll tell you later. I just want to show you this." I hold the opened page out to him and his eyes lighten a bit, but there is still caution.
