Like many other families we couldnt afford many games. So my mom just had to compromise. She compromised by two words. Rap Rat. I would have preffered a monopoly, but as i said before we didnt have enough money to buy other games. So Rap Rat would just have to do.
I went into the living room only to find my two younger siblings whining over their broken game. It was my sisters favorite game monopoly. My mom stood there tryinto comfort them, but they kept crying over it. Finally my mom left the room and went into hers. About two minutes later my dad comes out with an old game called Rap Rat. Rap Rat was one of those old games where it had a disc and you pto a tv where it would ask you questions. It had a man in a cheap rat costume on the front it. My little sister who was five looked up at it and cryed. She sayed the rat scare her. I didn't blame her. The rat costume had two crooked front teethe on it ,and the rat was bloated looking. My brother didn't care much about it he thought it was just another game to play. I put the disc into the tv. The game turned on and the title came up, and there it was. It looked exactly like the box did. For a minute it did. The rat looked more real then fake now. Its eyes were a deep red, its fur wasnt fake anymore either. Than finally it started to grow these twisted jagged claws. The rat started to twitch even. Which turned into violently shaking its head. My little sister was crying her head off while my mom and i stood there bewildered by the game. Then the rat pointed at us. Turn it off! i screamed. My mom ran up to the tv and turned it off. Me and my mom looked at eachother. She swiftly took the disc out of the tv and got the box. She ran outside and threw it into the garbage can. No more rap rat she said. I nodded and that was the end of it. For now.
January 5th nine years later
My friends were helping me pack today. After all we were moving in together. I ran over to my parents room to go get my sweater. I looked inside the closet. I gasped. My friend Alisa came in just than. Whats that? She asked. Rap Rat. I said. Why are you so scared of it? I couldnt answer her. I thought my mom threw this into a garbage can! Why was it here? Oome off it. Alisa said. Its just a game. I nodded. I tried to keep that thought in my head. Its just a game I repeated. Why don't we see what you're so scared of? Before i could answer she yelled. Hey guys we found a game! No! I screamed. She grabbed my arm and pulled me into the living room. She put the disc in, and the title came up. As like last time the rat looked almost real. But there was something different. These terrifiying pictures came up. At first it was a butcher with a human on a table. Than it was a bloody corpse. As of last time the rat pointed at me. Like when i was a kid. Turn it off! I told you no turn it on and look what happened! I ran up to the tv ripped the disc out and broke it in half. No more rap rat. Later that day we could here scratching from the door. We realized that this wasn't just a game after all. It was real.
