Forgot to mention! In this Klaus can be daggered as a Hybrid. But only Humans can do it, so Originals couldn't.
Yes it didn't go to plan. So much for finishing for Christmas eh? But here it is!
Chapter Two
The Devil Himself
Klaus had be so very tempted to drain the girl dry. Her blood was so very sweet, the best he had tasted in a lifetime. But he managed to stop himself last second.
Something about the girl made him want to keep her alive. Her curious eyes calculated every move of his and someone as defenceless as her knew about the supernatural world. Another thing made him stop. The fact that the girl was so innocent while he was practically the devil himself. The girl - Bella had pulled the dagger out of him. Usually someone would cringe away from his lifeless body and run. But her...she actually took the dagger out. She was brave yet timid at the same time. And of course she was pitiful and loving.
Klaus was curious to see how things would turn out. When she woke would she run? Would she scream?
Currently, Klaus was sitting on the small sofa in the Motel Room. As soon as his thirst was sated he had picked up the girl from the ground and brought her to a motel room. From there he didn't know what to do as he had promised the girl he wouldn't kill her.
"Klaus" A soft murmur brought him out of his deep thoughts. Bella was stirring around in the cheap motel sheets. Klaus' eyes fell to the small girl and watch as her brows furrowed in confusion. She froze for a moment before her eyes flung open and immediately they began to scan the room.
"Morning sweetheart" Klaus greeted her with his signature smirk however his eyes were filled with curiosity.
Quickly, Bella shot forward in the bed making a loud whine of protest come from the bed. Only then, Bella realized she wasn't in her usual home.
"Where am I?" She asked Klaus with a slight shake to in her voice as she hadn't expected to be trapped in a room with a vampire, "A motel room?" She guessed as Klaus nodded in response. Bella's eyes were wide with fear as she kept her eyes trained on him for any sudden movements. She didn't want to die. No matter how bad her situation was. She wasn't a quitter.
Klaus got up from the sofa and went to sit on the bed next to Bella's legs. Klaus wasn't surprised when she shuffled further away. She leaned away from him and watched Klaus as he watched her carefully with wonder. She hadn't ran. She hadn't screamed. She hadn't even freaked out. The most she had done was lean away.
"You remember me, yes?" Klaus asked her cautiously, testing his boundaries.
"Yes, you're Klaus. The vampire" She paused for a moment and fiddled with her fingers, "I thought you were going to kill me"
"Well of course you would, Love" Klaus replied back with a wide smirk on his face, "I am a vampire after all"
"Are you going to kill me?" She murmured quietly as her eyes met his icy blue ones but suddenly a thought hit her that she had forgotten to ask about. So before Klaus could answer her question she jumped to another.
"How is it that your eyes aren't red or yellow?" She asked him with pure interest as Klaus sighed. It would of been easier answering whether he would kill her or not.
"You my dear have met what is called a Cold One. They hardly count as Vampires. More of a witch who attempted to copy my mothers work" Bella raised her eyebrows in shock at the fact that there were two types of vampires and that Klaus had actually decided to tell her. That didn't change the fact that she feared him though,"The difference between us love, is that we have blood, our skin is soft, we have a heart beat, we eat and we can drink from a human without killing them. We also have what is called compulsion. It allows us to control others however Vervain stops it. Vervain also weakens vampires. Although my family and I can compel other vampires as we are Originals. The first ever vampires. Also, our type of vampires die with a stake through their hearts" Klaus finished with a smirk tugging at his lips at the shocked expression on the humans face.
"So you're like - what - a thousand years old?" Bella asked with an amused smile but then murmured, "Older than Edward"
Klaus raised an eyebrow, "Who is Edward?" And immediately Bella blushed as she had forgotten that vampires had super hearing.
"Your story for mine?" Bella offered with a smile and had completely forgotten by now about what had happened yesterday.
Klaus hesitated. He usually didn't do that kind of thing but the girl intrigued him. Maybe he should just compel it out of her?
"I'll go first" Bella interrupted his thoughts so he decided to just go with it.
Klaus sat quietly and listened as Bella explained all about her ex boyfriend Edward leaving and the red head - Victoria - and of course her little clan. She also mentioned about how much she missed him but her fathers death had really hit her hard. And she added at the end about how she was sure that she had moved on from Edward and his controlling ways.
Klaus couldn't help but admit that the girl had been through a lot considering she was just a human. He actually did pity her. Which was surprising considering this was Klaus, the power lusting Hybrid.
"Your turn" Bella mumbled quietly as she thought over her past and how she was so weak. But she was determined to change for the better. She might even try and convince Klaus to turn her. But she wasn't planning on getting her hopes up. She was still scared of him even if he hadn't made a move to kill her.
Klaus shifted on the bed before running his hand through his hair. Slowly, Klaus began to explain his story and his life to the young human. He told her all about Mikael and how Klaus had been dead set on breaking the curse. He told her everything about the doppelgangers and how he nearly fell in love with Caroline. He even mentioned Tatia and his brothers death. Sadly, he had lost three brothers, Henrik, Finn and Kol. He had never told anyone before but he blamed himself for all of their deaths. And finally about how the newest doppelganger had daggered him for Elijah. Although he solely blamed it on Elijah and was hurt by his brothers betrayal.
Bella had never realized how hurt someone could be until she had met Klaus Mikaelson. So many people had hurt him and all he wanted was peoples affection. All of his family pushed him away just because they feared their father. They could of stuck by his side but they did not. Not even his mother.
Klaus was surprised when the young girl wrapped her arms around him in a comforting matter so he froze for a moment.
"You've been through so much pain" She stated as she slowly pulled away from Klaus, "You push people away because that's all you know in fear that someone will hurt or betray you again"
Klaus blinked. No one had ever told him anything like that besides Caroline who betrayed him. He hadn't told Bella that she was in on the plan as she drew him to the Salvatores boarding house where Elena stabbed him.
Klaus narrowed his eyes at Bella and immediately he snapped, "I do not push people away! I do not fear ANYONE!"
Bella's eyes went wide as she cowered back against the wall as she mumbled small apologies to Klaus. She hadn't anticipated that.
Klaus sighed as he felt regret seep in, "You should probably get some more sleep Sweetheart. I drained a lot of your blood and that is going to need to heal" Klaus paused, wondering whether he should offer her his blood, "Here" He offered as he placed his wrist in front of his mouth before biting it, "Our blood heals, and usually its best when helping humans recover blood"
He placed his wrist in front of her lips and hesitantly, she drank from his wrist for a minute before leaning back down and closing her eyes.
"Goodnight Love"
