WAR FOR A NATION

She started thinking when I said her I had to leave her,
To the war against the nation somewhere far away,
But every breath tells me how much I love her,
And how I'll fix it all at once I'm home to stay,

But these dreams will come true and you can call me a dreamer,
Making what we will of what we are,
In these things that we can do I'm a firm believer,
As humanity leaves for us a door ajar.

So wait for me in this empty months of sorrow,
As our ways will stay together still,
At least be glad today, if grief comes tomorrow,
No power is greater than our strength of will.
