I woke up laying on a couch with a blanket covering me. I was inside the house I knocked on the door of. I sat up and looked up, the girl who opened up the door was in the kitchen.

"Oh! You are awake!" She said. "Are you alright?"

"I guess... I can't really remember what happened. Well, I remember everything going black..." I say.

"You fainted." She said.

"Oh."

"By the way, I'm Aphmau!" She said. "You are...?"

"Y/N." I say.

"Who are you?" Aphmau asks.

"What do you mean?"

"Well who exactly is Y/N? Like where are you from? Where is your family?"

"Oh... um... uh.... I just decided to take a late night stroll." You say without confidence.

Aphmau giggles, "I don't think that's true. You can trust me."

"Fine. I'm an orphan. I ran away from my orphanage because it's a terrible place."

"Oh... y-you're an orphan. I never would have guessed. Well you can stay here as long as you need!"

"Aphmau! Who are you talking to?" A female voice shouts.

"Uh! N-nobody mom!" Aphmau yells.

Suddenly a woman walks down the stairs wearing a maroon robe.

"APHMAU! WHO IS THAT?" She screeches and takes a step back.

"M-mom! It's my friend Y/N!" Aphmau defends.

"What is she doing here at this time of night?"

"She is an orphan and she ran away because the orphanage was a terrible place."

"Oh my! You poor little thing! C'mon you need some rest! Tomorrow I will get the adoption papers and I will put you in school with Aphmau!" Aphmau's mom exclaims as she pulls me upstairs.

"T-thank you Miss!" I say.

She brings you to a guest room. "You will live in here. On the weekend we can make the room more like you! Well, goodnight!"

"Goodnight! Thank you for everything!" I say.

She smiles and closes the door to my room.

I set down my backpack and climb into the bed. It was warm and comfortable, unlike the beds at the orphanage. Then I drifted off to sleep.

I know. This is a short chapter. :| But, I'm planning on uploading another chapter today! Woooo!
