minseo inhaled the refreshing aroma of the small cafè, hoping a cup of coffee would ease her mind a little after what just happened. out of all people, she never expected kim taehyung — the man who she thought loved her with all his heart and soul and could take a bullet for her anytime — would say he never loved her. and even call her a bitch, for that matter. everything happened too fast, and it gave minseo headaches just by thinking about it. the girl knew what he texted her should not bother her this much. she didn't even love taehyung, why was it affecting her in ways she didn't even know was possible?

kang minseo shuffled a bit in her seat, the sound of chattering and cutlery clinking faintly rang through her ears. it wasn't calming; the cafè was quite crowded, almost unorganised. she scoffed at the irony; as if her thoughts weren't unorganised and messed up enough. the noises in the cafè just added to her slight stress as she continued to patiently wait for her coffee.

her brows knit together in confusion as she got lost in her own thoughts; her mind filled with taehyung, and only him. why was he bothering her this much? and to think that just a few days ago, she didn't feel anything for the boy. why did all the emotions, the feelings, the regrets come rushing in now? it was too late. and she knew she was to blame.

if she learned to love kim taehyung, maybe none of this unnecessary heartaches (and headaches) would've happened. and she wouldn't be sitting — alone in a table for two — in a very populated cafè situated right smack in the middle of the busy city of busan. as people scurried about minding and doing their own business, kang minseo's mind wandered off into its own little world; the main focus being her complicated relationship with taehyung. she tried getting her mind off it; she went on countless walks today, letting her feet take her heartbroken figure wherever they wanted, but it still did not do a good job on easing the pain. minseo sighed, her eyes stinging as tears were threatening to trickle down her pale cheeks. feeling a lump in her throat, her breath hitched a little.

she was heartbroken. did taehyung feel the same way?

crash.

a loud noise of glass shattering in very close proximity to the heartbroken girl cut off her train of thoughts. minseo flinched in shock, faint gasps from other customers filled the cafè.

she felt warm breath tickle her neck.

"sorry," a masculine voice nervously mumbled, causing minseo's head to jerk to the source of the voice. her eyes widened and suddenly all thoughts of taehyung disappeared just like that. blinking, she felt blood rush immediately to her cheeks as she faced a really really attractive boy.

the unknown boy made eye contact with her; both just stared at each other as the sounds of the cafè seemed to be blocked out. the boy's plump lips curved into a small smile; his eyes gradually getting smaller the wider his mouth moved. minseo blinked as the corner of her lips tugged into a hesitant smile. it was awkward, but the two just couldn't seem to look away from each other. it was as if the world halted for this moment. for this one moment.

"hey," the boy popped out, blinking twice before his eyes sparkled a little. minseo's heart melted at the sound of his raspy, masculine voice. it was somehow melodic in her ears.

"hi," minseo muttered back, awestruck eyes never leaving his small ones. "i'm—"

before she could even introduce herself, the phone in her hand began to vibrate furiously, her notifications were out of control. she frantically fumbled with her phone, knowing it was probably taehyung again. minseo didn't want to read it, but a little part of her also wanted to. she wanted him to apologise, but she knew she should be the one doing that instead of him.

you disgust me,
to think that i actually dated
someone as heartless and as
annoying and clingy as you
makes me sick.
i think it is better
this way, minseo.

minseo's thumb started shaking in horror as she didn't even know how to reply to such a text. kim taehyung already hurt her enough, and he even had the audacity to do it again. what kind of a man was he? was this his true colours? minseo's heart sank; she really did not expect such filthy words to come from taehyung. heartbreak really did change people, huh?

shortly after yet another shocking text from taehyung, minseo heard shuffling from behind her.

"we may not know each other well, but i do know i can treat you way better than whoever texted you that shit."

minseo's eyes widened as she turned around, her eyes landing on the cute boy again. it was him who said it. she let out a small giggle as her eyes softened at what he said; it was almost as if all of her pain disappeared into thin air.

could he really?
