3. Prediction

**Aurelia's POV**

While I was too lost in my train of thoughts,  Shelby's voice echoed in my head as she sweared, "WTF this isnt a way to greet your bestfriend.  Like hey, I come to meet you and you suddenly look at me and say 'you are going to die' and then black  out!!  Is this some kind  of joke or prank?  Because I'm  telling you, if th- "
"Will you shut up for a second  Shelby? " Michelle  said through gritted teeth.
"No I won't, I'm  effin  gonna die Mich.  As per your sister's  prediction " Shelby stated,  sarcasm evident  in her voice. "By the way I never knew Zoë could predict stuff!? "

Now I was loosing my cool. I had been controlling myself. Thanks to Mariana. But if Shelby wouldn't stop bickering I swear I would do something. Bad.

"Look Shelby,  we don't know  what happened, either. So if you want to know  why she said that, why not wait, sit down and just shut your mouth?!! " I said irritated.

As we took Zoë  back to her room there were many things  going on in my mind.
As far as I knew there was no reason for Zoë  to say this. She had never acted like this. I mean how was it possible for her to know that  someone will live or die?
If so,  why only Shelby?  Why not all other people she had met lately? 
How was this possible? How could  sh-
UNLESS.... 
As soon as a possibility occurred in my mind I was pulled out of my reverie as Mariana shouted at me "Hello earth to Aur??  Are you blacking out too?  Listen to me and call the doctor! Zoë  isn't  waking up!! "

As if on cue Zoë  woke up.
But.
Something was different. She didn't  exactly wake up.
She just arched her back, opened  her eyes - her eyes had gone  totally blank, like a black sky- and started gasping for air.  She was saying something  in between  her heavy  breathing, but we couldn't understand anything except  for four words that stood out for us to understand - "..........Car....... Cliffs......... Breaks........... die.
And then she collapsed again and continued  her rapid breathing.
We didn't  need any more words out of Zoë  to understand  what she meant and what was going  to happen.
We left Antonia to take care of Zoë and rushed down stairs  to look for Shelby.
I silently prayed  that what I was thinking won't  come out to be true.
But my luck  wasn't  that good.
Shelby was no longer waiting  for us in the hall nor was she waiting outside in the garden enjoying the flowers at night.
Michelle  took out her phone  and called Shelby. After what felt like eternity she picked up.
" What the  hell were  you thinking?  Where are you? " Mich asked annoyed She put the call on speaker for us to hear. All we could  hear was music blaring  but I could  tell she wasn't  at a party  or something  because  there was no noise. The only noise was of Shelby's awful singing  as she sang  along the  song  that was playing! 
Which clearly meant that she was heading home. In her car. 
I let out an exasperated sigh.
"We told you to wait,  didn't  we? !" Michelle  shouted into the phone.
"Well well I'm  sorry but I  needed some fresh air. Plus i didn't  want to interrupt  in your family matter. So I  took off." Shelby stated carelessly.
"But Shel you need to get back ASAP.  You aren't  safe--"
"Oh cut me the 'I'm  going to die'  shit.  Nothing's  gonna happen to me Mich.  Just go and take care of Zoë. And hey do let me  know why she played  this  awful  prank! "
"Might I ask,  which  route have you taken  to get back  home? "
"umm the long  one with all the hills and water and beautiful sightings!  Yep that's  the one"
"oh no you didn't! Shel come back please come back. " Mich pleaded
"Shelby listen please,  the long  route isn't  safe right now. Please you have to come back." Mariana  joined
"Why won't  it be safe?  The road is hella empty guys. Now please don't  stress me out. Just leave me be. Good night, take care, all the love--------"
And with that she hung  up! 

This couldn't  be true, not at all.  Zoë  couldn't  just walk around telling people if they were gonna live or die and precisely how would they die!!  No way.
I'm  sure we were just overreacting and Shelby  would  reach home safely.
As we reached  back upstairs in the hope  of seeing Zoë still unconscious, we were surprised  to see that she was wide awake and talking to Antonia whilst laughing.
It was as if,  as if...
She didn't remember anything.
She didn't  know anything.
Even Michelle and Mariana sensed  this and were looking at her perplexed. They looked at me and i gave them the-you-dare-remind-her-anything-look. 
Our doubts were proven  right  when Zoë  noticed  us and asked that what  was wrong  and where Shelby was.
Oh Zoë, she didn't even know what she had  predicted.
We all sat down at the end of her bed,  smiled and just  lied to her that everything was fine and that Shelby  had go back home because of some emergency. As if it was so easy.

Mariana helped in lighting our moods and Antonia made us hot chocolate and all I did was, silently pray that whatever we thought  won't  be true.

**Zoë's POV**

After  I  woke up,  I didn't  remember what had happened, how had I ended up on my bed with Antonia sitting  right  beside me.
When I woke up, she told me that I fainted while we were going to have food.
She told me that Mari, Mich and Aur were downstairs as Shelby had to leave because  of some emergency. I wanted to go downstairs too, but she didn't  let me.

Then suddenly  i clutched my head. It was paining. Very badly. It was as if something  was trying to make its way from my subconscious mind to my conscious mind. It was  as if I should  remember  something.
But the headache  was gone as soon as it come. But I was feeling like a shard of memory was tugging  at the back of my head. Something  about a car...............  an accident  maybe...
I was brought back to reality  by Antonia shaking my shoulders and asking me if I  wanted to eat something. I refused, still  occupied  by my thoughts.
"As far as I know you are having fits Zoë. I hope there's  no hanky panky going  on with someone behind my back" Antonia said clearly trying to hide her smile.
My mouth  formed  an O "Antonia" I said hitting  her arm. Her poor attempt at making me smile worked.

Then my sisters entered the room looking....  Well looking as if I shouldn't  be alive.
"Is something  wrong? " I asked "And where  is Shelby? "
Aurelia passed some looks to the other two before they sat down at the end of the bed and told me that  Shelby went home.
Something  in their voices told me that they were hiding something.
But soon enough as if they sensed that I  was thinking this, their  voices  changed back to their cheerful ones and their lips broke  into their  usual smiles.
We all started talking and went back to our usual selves.
But not before  I knew that they were  clearly  hiding something  from  me.
Something I had to know.

Hey guys.  Yeah I know you would've  thought  something  else about the end of this chapter.
I can say that you may have obvious  conclusions.
But I'd  still advice  you to take a closer look.
So yeah I updated before Saturday because 1. I was free
                 2. One of my best friends really liked this story and wanted  me to  update 😇
I hope you guys like the story.  Next chapter  holds new cliffhangers  and mysteries.
