Chapter 2 - Welcome to Louisville

Ricky's P.O.V.

The car that would take me to the airport would be here in any minute. I stood in the hallway with my backpack on my back and my suitcase beside me. Infront of me my mom stood with a tear in her eye.

"I can't believe that my baby boy is all grown up and going on his first big mission." She said.

"It'll be fine mom" I said.

"I know, I'm really proud of you sweetie and I know you won't let us or the organisation down. Just promise me to be careful, we don't know what this might lead you" She said.

"I promise you, I'll be really careful and I'm going to be home again before you know it. Until then we can talk and facetime everyday" I said.

"That sounds great. I'm going to miss you so much. It's going to be weird to have the house all for myself while the four of you are on your different missions" She said.

"I'm going to miss you too mom, a lot" I said and pulled her into a tight hug.

We hugged for a minute until I saw a car stopping outside of the house. The car are here. I pulled away and looked down at my mom.

"The car's here. Bye mom" I said.

"Bye honey, call me when you arrive there okay?" She said.

"I will" I said.

I took my suitcase and opened the door. I stepped outside and took one last look at my mom who where smiling but at the same time had teary eyes. I gave her a smile before I turned back around and walked over to the car. I put my suitcase in the trunk and got into the backseat of the car and greeted the driver. As the car slowly started I noticed my mom in the kitchen window. I raised my hand as a wave gesture and watched as the house that I'm calling home disapperead behind me.

Many hours later I arrived in Denver. As soon as I walked out in the arrivals hall after getting my suitcase I saw a woman and a man holding up a sign that said my name. That must be the Shepard's. I walked over to them.

"Hi I'm Ricky. Are you the Shepard's?" I said.

"Yeah that's us. I'm Peter and this is my wife Susan." The man said.

"Hi it's so nice to meet you. We hope that you will feel at home and like Louisville" The woman said.

"It's really nice to meet you too and I'm sure I will" I said.

"Let's go to the car shall we?" The man said.

I nodded and walked out from the airport with them. We got into their car and drove for about 40 minutes until we arrived in the little town of Louisville. It was a cute and calm little town and nothing like the big and hectic San Antonio. The Shepard's home where smaller than ours back in San Antonio but it was lovely. I sat down on the bed in my new room.

"You know that you can always come to us if you needs someone to talk too. Just see us as your extra family. I'm really looking forward to have you here... Kevin" Mrs Shepard who where standing in the door way said.

"Thanks... mom" I said and cracked a smile.

"I'm going to start preparing the dinner and let you unpack. We'll call you down when it's ready" Mrs Shepard said and smiled.

I nodded and she closed the door and walked away. I walked over to the window and looked out. Down at the street outside a teenage girl came on her skateboard. She stopped right infront of the Shepard's house and took up her phone. She had long and straight brown hair and a pair of army green Urbanears headphones on. I watched her put her phone to her ear and started talking to someone. A minute later she hung up and just as she was about to put her phone back in her jacket pocket her eyes stopped on me in the window. We both looked at eachother for about 10 seconds before she broke the eye contact and put her phone in her pocket. She then glanced up at me again before putting her foot on the skateboard and continuing down the street. I sighed and walked back over to my bed. I grabbed my phone and called mom's number. After all I promised to call when I arrived here and I don't want her to be worried.

Ricky's now in Louisville. Will he settle down fine with the Shepard's and who was that girl he saw outside of the house? Maybe you already can guess that but if not you'll find it out in the next chapter!
