Lauren sits in the cell, the top half of her orange suit rolling off of her shoulders. She slumps against the cold wall, her long hair past her shoulders.

It's been one month in this facility, and Lauren has had zero contact with the other girls. She doesn't even know if they are on the same floor as her, let alone the same building.

Her cell is heavily guarded. Who can blame them? She's suffocated a guard by tying their tie tightly on the cell bars, and she's beaten three guards with their own weapons. The facility has every right to fear her.

"Veronica," The paler girl cackles. "Where is my family?"

"Your mom and dad?" She asks.

"No," Lauren laughs. "The girls I came here with." Veronica sighs.

"Lauren for the last time," She groans. "They are here in this building."

"I want proof," She snaps, standing up and walking to the cell. "Let me see them." The brunette thinks about it before cuffing Lauren's hands to the bar.

"You're lucky that I'm second-in-command," She says.

Seconds later, her girlfriend is walking down the hallway. She's struggling against Veronica, cursing the guard out. She brightens up when she locks eyes with Lauren, pulling away from the officer.

"Hey babe," Normani whispers, kissing Lauren deeply. They kiss for a while, feeling nothing but warmth for each other.

"When are we getting out of here?" The darker girl asks, her voice low so that Veronica couldn't hear.

"Soon Mani," Lauren promises. "I'm working on it. They don't let me out enough for me to see the facility."

"If you would stop acting up then maybe they would," Normani teased.

"Maybe," The paler girl chuckles. "I still think they wouldn't trust me. After all, I was more of the mastermind than Ally was, plus I killed more than the rest of you. I'm dangerous."

"True," The older girl agrees.

"Time to go," Veronica orders.

"See you soon," Normani promises, kissing her on the cheek.

"See you soon,"

But Lauren doesn't see her lover for another two months. She's been taken out more, but she's always sedated. Her photographic memory allows her to remember everything, so she's mapped out a plan to escape.

One problem.

Dinah and Camila have moved to another facility, so she only has Normani to execute this plan. As much as the darker girl is a help to her, it'll take more than just two. They should be able to escape easily together though, and maybe take some trophies with them.

"I wanna see Mani for lunch," Lauren pleads.

"No," Veronica says.

"Please?" Lauren begs. "I'll behave, a little." She smirks.

"Fine," Veronica gave in, unlocking her cell.

Little did she know, Lauren had swiped her keycard, gun, and keys. The guards went home late at night, but the security cameras activated laser beams in order to prevent inmates from escaping. Luckily, Lauren knew exactly how to avoid them.

"Hey Mani," Lauren greets, kissing her on the cheek. She looks around warily. "I've got it." Normani smiles eagerly, sitting down across from her. Veronica slides their trays onto the table, the gross smell of prison food greeting them. Both girls wrinkle their noses in disgust, eyeing the gruel.

"I don't want this," Normani complains, pushing her food away.

"Eat it," A guard orders.

"I said," The darker girl repeats, staring the guard in the eye. "I don't want this."

"Eat it bitch," Lauren shoots up instinctively, making a threatening move to the guard. Normani stops her, giving the impulsive Latina a reassuring look.

"I told you I didn't want it," Normani growls, grabbing the tray. "And when I tell you I don't want something, you damn sure better get me what I want." The darker girl is just inches away from the guard, glaring at him. He pulls out his gun and aims it, soliciting a laugh from the girl.

"You don't know how to use that," She laughs. He shakes in his boots, the gun trembling. She smacks it out of his hand and Lauren watches it slide towards her on the floor. The pale girl slyly sneaks the gun into her pants, right next to the first firearm. By the time she looks up, the guard is covered in prison food, shaking in his boots.

"Now go get me some real food," Normani orders. "Preferably chicken wings." The security guard nods and scurries off, prison food covering his uniform.

"You're so spoiled baby," Lauren chuckles, shoving her food off the table.

"I know," She admits, sitting next to her. Lauren nudges her arm subtly, sliding one of the guns out.

"Two o'clock in the morning," She whispers. "We bust out of here. I've got the keys, a keycard, and a gun. I'll be down to your cell the minute I escape. I've gotten our transportation set up."

"You're brilliant," Normani praises, smiling. "Can I kill anybody?"

"Who's stopping you?" Lauren inquires. "This is why you're in here with me. Not only have you killed slightly less than me, but you like killing."

"It's a pastime," The darker girl says. "Why do you think I got into juvie?"

"I remember this story," Lauren reminisces. "You assaulted somebody cause they stole your hamburger."

"Nobody can fuck with my food," She says sternly.

"That's so true," Lauren chuckles. "But did you really need to stab him with that plastic knife ten times?"

"Arin deserved it," Normani laughed.

"Okay ladies," Veronica claps her hands. "Time to go." Lauren leaned in and kissed Normani quickly, winking at her.

Two o'clock couldn't have come any faster.

Lauren ripped her orange jumpsuit in half, tearing the top half until it was a crop top. She ripped the pants until they became shorts, tightening the waistband.

Lauren reached her hand through the bars, opening the lock to her cell with ease. She silently made her way down the corridor, opening Normani's cell.

The darker girl walked out from the shadows, spinning the gun between her fingers. She ripped the shirt down the middle, exposing her bra and toned abs. Her shorts showed off her smooth, chocolate legs, her hair wrapped in a ponytail. Lauren couldn't help but bite her lip.

"Damn Mani," Lauren husks. "Always lookin' fine."

"Thanks mama," Normani smirks, taking slow steps out of the cell and running her hand across Lauren's back. They kissed briefly before walking down the dark hallway, the red lights of the lasers coming into view.

Lauren swiped the card, shutting off all the lasers. The two walked, hand-in-hand, out of the facility.

"We're free Lo," Normani breathes, taking steps away as she stared at the sky. The stars twinkle as Lauren's eyes survey them. Never has something looked so beautiful to her, in all its simplicity.

"Yeah babe," Lauren whispers. "We're free."

Are they?
