Just like a filter in a camera you can choose the color of life. You won't always know what other people will think till you choose a path or a filter.

My name is Santana Marie Garcia. I'm half Puerto Rican from my mother and half Italian from my father. We moved the U.S. when I was nine. We bounce around from town to town never staying at one place for more then six months. We move due to my dads job. The job he works for is some company that constantly needs him to move. My mom is a nurse and doesn't have a problem with moving all the time but I do. I can't even remember the last time I was invited to someone houses. By the time I come to the new school everyone has a friend group and I end up eating alone for the year. This time we're moving San Diego, California hopefully this time it will be different.

My dad said this time we're going to stay until I graduate in three years. I'm going to be a sophomore at my new school Oak Ridge. Tomorrow will be my first day and this time it's not just six months.

I roll out of the hotel bed. My alarm clock just went off and I'm not in a good mood. My curly dark brown hair is about ten feet high. I attempt to tame it but I just end up jumping into the shower. I get dressed in a cream tank top and with a lace in the back and black leggings. I tie my hair into a messy bun on the top of my head and do my best attempt at my makeup.

Since we are currently living in a hotel till we find a house we don't have any food in the kitchen so instead I just grab the keys to my new car I got for my birthday. I head to lobby and but before I can make it to the door the person at the counter calls to me. "There is a package for you" he looks down" from your aunt. Do you want the package now or we can deliver it to your room". I politely tell him" now is fine thank you". I grab my hand around the package it's surprisingly heavy for it size. As I walk to my car I read the letter attached to it

Dear Santana,
Happy birthday! I know how much fun it is to be sixteen. That's why I have been waiting till now to give this to you. Remember this will only get you so far.

Love
         Auntie Lu

Remember this will only get you so far? What the actual heck does that supposed to mean. I knew my aunt was crazy but seriously. Instead of opening the gift I place it in my trunk and focus on what's important now not making a total fool of myself.

I have tried my combo for my locker to many times to count. My class is who knows we're and I'm probably going to end up being all of my stuff to class. I hear the bell and I give up on my locker I run down the hall looking for my class it's advanced mathematics room 145. I pass 143 144 145 made it and yes I'm a little bit of a nerd.

I practically fall over from my own feet as I sprint into the class room. Everyone won turns there head. I feel my cheeks get hot. "Glad you could join us Ms... " . "Garcia! Santana Garcia" I practically screech. Great another thing for people to make fun of me for. I turn my head back to the teacher as she tells me to sit next to a boy in the back. As I get closer I see he has blonde hair almost white with dark blue eyes.

I sit down almost missing the chair. I start to say. "Hi my nam--" he interrupts me half way though. "I don't care who you are". I keep looking at him shocked. I almost had to physically moving my head in order to get me to look away. If my cheeks weren't red enough they just got a whole lot more.

As the bell rings I almost fly out of my seat as I leave the class. My thoughts trail off as I think of the boy who I sat next to. What a jer---. I slam on to the ground. I ran into a big metal pole. I scramble to pick up all my stuff before anyone sees what just happened. To late there is a crowd around me of about 30 people. What a AMAZING day it's been. I see a muscular hand reach down I look up to see who it was. It was the jerk from class. He must be taking pity on me. Instead of taking his hand I grab my last book and pull myself up. I was going to walk out with all the dignity I had left.

I try to get through school by keeping a low profile, but that's pretty hard when the whole school has seen you slam your forehead into a pole. Everyone comes up to you and says "Aren't you the girl who can't even see a pole that's right in front of you?" I can go on but I'm going to save my ego anymore humiliation.

I end up eating lunch in the girls Locker room alone. This day really couldn't have gone any worse

As I hear the final bell I rush out of my class luckily there was no pole this time. I get into my car and make my great escape. As I get to the hotel I grab the present from the back and bring it to my room.

As I tear open the box I see a neatly packed camera. It looks as if it's brand new. I look through the camera. Instead of seeing my bed I see a picture with two images side by side on of a woman on the street I can't make out her face but her car broke down. The other showed what I think to be the same woman in a ally running away from something. I keep scrolling through the same woman in different scenarios. Well I know this for sure my aunt is crazy.
