Two years later...

Jiyeon's POV
I grab my bag from the floor along with my file from the desk and rush downstairs.
I make my way into the kitchen and a pleasant smell hits my nose. Halmoni's making pancakes.
I run into the kitchen whilst halmoni is preparing breakfast.
I grab the pancake, add my favourite toppings on and eat it all in one go.
"Whoa, Jiyeon! Slow down! You'll choke." She speaks then laughs.
After finishing my pancake in one gulp, I sheepishly smile and reply, "Sorry halmoni."
She shakes her head and laughs again.
I run into the living room to grab my coat from the sofa. I pick up my coat and slip it on. I grab my bag from beside the coffee table and I throw it over my shoulder.
"Alright halmoni. I'm off now!" I shout from the living room.
"But what about your-" She was going to reply when I interrupt.
"Bye, love you!" I shout.
"Love you too!" She shouts back.
I rush towards the door and open it instantly.
I exit the house and close the door behind me.
Before going to work, I'll go to the cafe I usually go to. I need a hot drink in a cold weather like this.
So I walk down the street, making my way to the cafe.
Whilst making my journey, I will tell you about my story so far from when I came back to Seoul two years ago.
Halmoni was so kind in giving me shelter inside her own house. During that time, I was 22.
Then last year in August, I finally turned 23. Halmoni organised a huge party for me in her house and she invited her grandchildren over. Some were 5 years of age and some were under. I swear they were so cute.
I tried contacting my parents on the day of my 23rd birthday, but they simply said they don't want anything to do with me. It really hurts me, thinking that my parents are still ashamed of me.
It's Tuesday 4th August 2018 and I'm turning 24 next week. Throughout the two years that I have been here, I have only done small cases. I really want to take up a big case, but my boss says I'm not ready yet.
I guess I'll just wait for the opportunity.
Remember when I said I'm hoping to bump into one of my high school friends? Guess what? I haven't seen any of them in these two years.
