It was the Summer of '98. I was forced to go to Whashtasocka Summer Camp. It was the dullest, most mosquito infested, disembodying camp EVER!!!!!!!!!! I hated more than anything in the world, And I hate a lot of things. Including my five brothers and four sisters. Who were in fact there too. Have you ever been thorough that? No?, because your not the youngest of ten, and your mothers not a baby breeding machine who can sneeze and get pregnant?(for some reason that magical power "Went Away" when i was born. I suspect my parents didn't discover condoms until then. Which was wonderful. Absolute bliss.) Consider your self lucky.
I wanted to burn myself so i have a reason to go home. I tried, and i had to go to the nurse on sight. She spread toothpaste and butter on my arm and told me to be more careful around fire pits. I'm still scared from that amazing treatment from Svedlana the Strong Russian Nurse who was able to bench the fat kid who liked to eat the food that was made of clay and worm spit. (It was the special everyday.)
The only good thing about that camp was the lake. It was clearer than crystal and colder than ice. Every day at the crack of dawn (my only time alone) I went for a swim. It froze the shit out of you, but it was worth it. That's where I met Him.
His name was Tucker Marley. I strongly disliked him at first. You know guys, no means yes and get lost means take me i'm yours! He had the same swim schedule. He took that as I'll have a conversation with this chick. He was so persistent I was force to answer. Minimum contact was key at the time. After three weeks we started talking a little more. He called me Lizzy and I wanted to slap him. (My name is Elizabeth Taylor not Lizzy, Liz, Beth, Ellie or anything else. Im Elizabeth and thats that.) After a long time i started warming up to him. His deep blue eyes, his inviting smile, his strong arms, and most of all his perfect nose. It was beautiful. Don't judge me. If you saw a nose like his you would be mesmerised too.
