Mai Blades walked down the silent halls of St.Ozean Academy. Ozean had been the thirty-first Firelord, and was revired for his deep compassion, and the many supernatural legends that surrounded his bending. One could not immediately tell that the school was over 400 yearls old, but once one entered into the Headmaster's office, now occupied by Segray Fire, it became appparent that not much was altered except a desk, and the room's two only chairs. Mai got such impression as she knocked, and entered to be greeted by a somber Moroi. Segray, like most moroi, and especially those from the fire nation, was of light skin, and had a tall skinny build.

"So, Ms. Blades, I'm glad that your request for transfer to our esteemed school has been accepted." Segray said this with a stoic face, and little to no expression in his voice. He continued after a slight pause to shake Mai's hand briefly, "I hope that you will compliment the school's novice guardians well, and from what I've gathered you may be a bit more advanced than them."

"Perhaps. Nynx's Moon shard House was extensive in their novice's training, and would not tolerate failure to learn all the curriculum. Very few leave there incompetent." Mai said with an air of bordem. For the better part of her year, Mai decided that the transfer to St. Ozean was the highlight of her new life. She also believed that her interaction with the other type of vampire would be amusing as well.

"Surperb. Now, about your... lifestyle. I believe that our two races of vampires have the same habits, am i correct." Mai knew he was stareing at her forehead, trying to find the covered up tattoo that marked her as a daughter of the night. She sighed internally. When she was marked, it was not in the conventional way. No tattoo appeared, and she did not get sick. Dispite this, though, she did have a vision from Nynx telling her that she would be the first of her kind to be marked this way. Half human, half vampire for the remainder of her life.

"That won't be a problem, sir. I am what your kind would call a Dhampire, but our kind call us haflings. Neither of our groups like to mingle with humans if it can be helped, so i won't be causing trouble in that department."

"Excelent. As a sign of good faith we will be allowing you to have a room to yourself for now. Please do not hesitate to ask if you need anything. Our staff or student volunteers will see that you are well looked after."

With that, Mai made her way to the female student wing. On her way there, she only encountered two cooks carrying in groceries, a guardian reading a stack of files, and a black cat that immediately started following her. She somehow lost the feline when she took an elivator to the fifth floor. She did not want to remind herself of how she hadn't protected her first familiar. Once the metal doors openned, she instantly got out and read the numbers on the doors. She had to go around three corners to finally find her room.

She left the lights off as she flung her sachel to the cold marble floor, and flopped onto a small bed. She looked over and noticed that the staff had already brought in her clothing. After a long pause, she unfolded a piece of paper from her long, wide sleeve pocket. The information that they had provided a week earlier said that she would not have to attend classes as soon as she arrived, but would be taking them up the day after.

Mai didn't care. As long as she didn't have to wear another stupid, manditory uniform. Especially one with a skirt. She decided that this was the least of her worries and began to unpack.

NOTE: I do not own House of Night by the Casts, or Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead each by Razorbill and Panguin Books, or Nickelodion's Avatar:The Last Airbender by Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko. I am only using some characters, settings, and terms, but I DO NOT OWN THEM. I have no idea if and when new chapters will appear. I might get motivated if someone reviews it, and actually likes it. So constructive criticism is nice whether you liked it or hated it.Good day to you.
