Impatiently Hermione paced before the spot where the Room of Requirement should appear. "I need the place where he hid the book. I need the place where he hid the book. I need the place where he hid the book." After the third pass, it opened to show the towers of messy piles of hidden objects. This was the place that Harry had said he had hidden the Half-Blood Prince's potions book. She stepped cautiously forward, peering around corners as she walked forward. "Did he say where he put it?" she whispered to herself. "I doubt he would've told anybody such a thing like that if he tried to hide it in here." came a reply. Hermione turned around at the snarky voice to find Draco Malfoy leaning casually against a large cabinet. "And how would you know this, Malfoy? Have you studied us when you're not hurling insults at our backs?" spat Hermione. "Possibly. Possibly not. It all depends on how you respond, to be honest. With venom in your voice like that when you're talking to me, my father just might have to hear about this."

Hermione simply glared. In return, Draco came inches away from her face, causing him to bend slightly. He smirked hoping to get a reaction, but Hermione stayed placid. Before he realized what had happened, Hermione had risen on her toes slightly and had pecked his lips with her own and swiftly walked off. "If you're looking for the exit, you're going the wrong way, 'Mione." he said smoothly. The nickname stopped her dead in her tracks. No one had called her that except her parents, Ron, and Harry. She slowly turned on the spot and faced him, he had come up behind her and snaked his arms around her waist. Her mouth edged open but no words came out. Draco only grinned down at her before closing the gap between them.

And they stayed there for a little while longer.
