An Unwelcome Change

Sometimes seven o'clock came too soon.

As soon as Troy's alarm went on he groaned loudly, wishing he hadn't stayed up so late playing video games, but at least I got my homework done for once. He thought to himself as he groped around for his phone to turn off his alarm.

Once he had hit snooze button he pulled the covers up over his head and tried to go back to sleep. He was getting close to the sweet comfort of sleep when his room was suddenly light from the hallway flooded his room and the warmth of his covers were yanked away from him "You need to get up Troy, or you're going to be late again."  his mother said, folding his blanket and placing it at the foot of his bed.

Troy groaned and rolled onto his stomach, tucking his arms beneath his chest. He laid there for a few more minutes before hearing his mom shout "now Troy" from down the hall. With another groan he sat himself up and rubbed the sleep out of his eyes and padded across his room closing his bedroom door before he started to get dressed.

He went to the kitchen to find an English Muffin with raspberry jam on it waiting for him, he grabbed it, shoving it into his mouth, thanking his mother and heading downstairs through the shop. His father was already there, wearing his special magnifying glasses as he worked on a special pocket watch for a client. "Have a good day dad, I'll see you tonight."

His father looked up from his work, his eyes magnified to five times their usual size "Wait Troy, before you go, could you take Mr. Fu his new watch on your way home today? He asked to have it delivered but I have to finish this pocket watch then I have that Grandfather clock to fix."

"Yeah sure, I can do that I guess." Troy said.

His father pointed at a box sitting on the counter by the entrance of the shop "That should be it, double check to make sure, we don't want another miss-delivery."

Troy winced and chuckled, "Right, yeah." he grabbed the box and made sure it was the correct watch before putting it in his backpack "I'll make sure this gets to Mr. Fu." he assured before hurrying out of the shop, looking down at his own watch and clicking his tongue. At this rate he was going to be late.

He ran down the street doing his best to make it to school on time just short of breaking the law. He burst into the classroom just as the final bell was ringing and skidded to a halt, trying not to trample another student standing near the entrance. However with his lack of grace he completely bowled into the student, that being his fellow ungraceful student Marinette, sending them both tumbling to the floor.

"Sorry Mari." Troy said, sitting up and helping her into an upright position as well.

Before Marinette could get a word in Chloe's shrill laughter filled the room "You two losers are made for each other." she said with a smug look on her face "You both have no sense of time, which is ironic considering one of you has a clock maker as dad." she started laughing again, and cued Sabrina to join her.

Marinette puffed up angerly like she tended too whenever Chloe said anything. Troy used the edge of the desk to hoist himself up and helped Marinette up as well "Don't worry about it Mari, she doesn't bother me."

Troy went and took his seat at the back of the room across from Juleka and Rose. Mrs. Bustier entered the room "Alright everyone settle down, the bell has rung and class had begun." she said, setting down all the paper work she had brought with her. "We're going to start off today's class by introducing a new student." she gestured to the door.

A student stepped inside the classroom and there was a small collective gasp. The student, a girl, was tall, slender, and very pretty. Her hair was long and black like a raven's wing, her skin was a nice shade of Alabaster and her eyes were a clear blue. To put it in lame-mans terms. She was very very pretty.
