Chapter 4
Mathew groaned. “Really? That lowlife of a prince? Just what I needed” he muttered to himself.
Aurelia was also upset. She was hoping to be able to spend all day with Mathew tomorrow before his departure.
“Aurelia” Abigail said. “It’s time for you to depart to your room. Come now.”
“Alright, I’ll be right there” she said. “I will see you tomorrow in the morning Mathew. Have a pleasant night” she said with a smile.
Mathew bowed and said, “Goodnight Aurelia. Have sweet dreams about your heart’s desires.” He was gazing at her intently while saying that. He actually made her blush.
What? I’m blushing?! Well, I never thought that was possible. She turned away and started walking out of the ball room; but before she did she turned back around and smiled at Mathew. He blew her a kiss in a comedic way which made her laugh. She returned a blown kiss in his direction which he made a play of accepting and putting on his cheek with a goofy smile on his face.
What an amazing prince. She walked into her room with a smile on her face. She wished that night never ended; which was definitely a turn around of thought for her. She undressed and wore a night gown. She fell on her bed with a thud and a smile on her face. All she could think about was Mathew’s beautiful smile and his gorgeous emerald eyes. She was definitely going to dream about her heart’s desires tonight.

Mathew continued gazing at the spot where the princess just left from.
“What an amazing night.” he stated to himself while swirling around with his hands on his head.
He really enjoyed Aurelia’s company. Her beautiful honey brown eyes. Her gorgeous silky hair. He basically couldn’t stop thinking about her.
I’m not going to be able to sleep tonight, he thought. He decided to walk outside by the garden. His father and court jesters were busy talking with the king to notice his departure. They were conversing about how their kingdoms could benefit from starting a trade with kingdoms from other countries.
Boring politic talk, Mathew thought. All the kingdoms cared about was profiting themselves, which Mathew thought was a greedy way of thinking. They did not care about the well being of others as long as they received what they wanted. Mathew was busy in thought when Balavan came up behind him and clasped his hand on Mathew’s shoulder.
“Why, hello fellow prince. What are you lost in thought about? Could it be your night with Aurelia?”
“Th-that’s none of-“
“Well it doesn’t matter anyway”, Balavan cut off. “My father was just talking to the king about how Aurelia needs a strong, dependant husband. He naturally thought I was a great match for her.” Balavan smirked.
“The king would not choose you so blindly.” Mathew said, glaring at Balavan.
“Oh but of course not”, Balavan started walking around Mathew in a circle. “But did you really think the king would be ok with Aurelia marrying someone like you? I mean look at you. You clearly left the political debate our fathers were having with the king because you were disinterested. Now, what kind of a king would that be? Not a stable one, if you cannot handle political matters do you really think you will be able to handle Aurelia?”
Mathew knew Balavan was just baiting him, so he decided to ignore him as Aurelia advised him to do; “Well I don’t think it really matters whether I enjoy conversing about politics or not. After all, Aurelia was spending the night with me. And what was it that she called you? An imbecile and an annoying, barbaric prince? Hmm… the description seems to fit perfectly.” Mathew said that last statement with a smile on his face.
“Now if you’ll excuse me barbaric prince, I must go rest for tomorrow. After all, I’m going to ask Aurelia to come to the opera with me. I’m going to need a good nights rest if I’m going to be taking her with me. Goodnight.”
“We will see who will end up with the princess, you unfitting incest.” Balavan stormed away in anger and Mathew laughed.
“Yes; we will see who the princess will end up with soon enough.” Mathew said to himself with a smile. He was sure that the princess and himself were very compatible. He was hoping she would accept his invitation to the opera so they could continue to converse and see how well they matched; as Mathew was convinced they were. He headed towards his guest room and undressed and got into the bed.
“Oh Aurelia, how did you strike me so affectively that I cannot get you out of my head?”
Mathew drifted off to sleep with thoughts about Aurelia in his head and a smile on his face.
