(Ethan)
She fell asleep on me. Her heartbeat is so peaceful. The sound of her breathing is so soothing that I could fall asleep right next to her. I couldn't even imagine what would happen if her parents woke up and found Emma out here with me. I notice the night sky is starting to turn to dawn and the moon has gown down dramatically. Her parents might be waking up soon. I put my free arm around her legs and gently pull her into my lap as I sit up. She almost woke up. I stand up and head to her front door, hoping it is still unlocked.
I make it to her porch and slowly open the screen door. I turn the doorknob quietly and fast. The door opens and I take her up to her room, but it was hard due to her friends scattered all over. So, I had to tiptoe around them. Emma wasn't heavy but I didn't want to step on any of her friends. I set her on her bed, where there is the only empty spot. I slowly sneak out of the room before anybody can hear or see me. As I step onto the porch, I hear someone walking down the stairs, so I run across the alley to my uncle's and close the gate behind me. I look back to see that her mom had walked onto the porch and lit a cigarette.
I sit down with a sigh of relief from the near miss of me being caught inside Emma's house. I watch the sky as it turns all shades of intense morning colors and listen to the birds chirping. They are actually quite annoying. I start pondering what would have happened had one of her parents seen me...I hear my uncle clear his throat which pulls me out of my thoughts.
"What are you doing up so early? Are you okay?" My Uncle asks curiously.
"Just couldn't sleep. I'm okay. Alot on my mind lately." I answer.
"Okay. I can understand that. I'm here if you need to talk. I know you've been through so much. I'll be by the pool if you need me."
"Thanks, uncle. I love you."
"Love you too, kid." He says, making his way towards the pool area.
I head to my room and fall asleep as soon as my head hits the pillow.

(Emma)
I wake up in my bed. How did I get here? The last thing I remember is laying on the grassy floor with Ethan's arms wrapped around me. I wanted to wake up to that! Not my bed! I roll over to check my phone and see that it's 2 o'clock in the afternoon! It is beyond time to start the day.
"Come on girls! Wake up!" I yelled as I banged on stuff to wake the four of them up.
"No...stop!" Rachel screams.
"Cut it out!" Amanda puts a pillow over her head.
"What are you doing?" Brittoni puts the blanket over her face.
"Shut up Emma!" Kaycee throws a stuffed animal at me.
"Let's get some breakfast lovelies and then start the day with a smile!" I say, sarcastically.
"Here's an idea...let's go back to sleep. How does that sound?" Kaycee remarks.
"Eh...that sounds a bit boring. We can definitely do some productive stuff today!" I say, opening my bedroom door.
I walk out of my room and look out the windows at the top of the stairs that overlook Ethan's uncle's property. David and his wife are swimming, but Ethan is nowhere in sight. I wonder where he could be...probably sleeping after last night.
I walk to my kitchen pantry to get out the English muffins and Townhouse crackers. Then I walk to the fridge to get the eggs, cheese, milk, and orange juice. Last, I start brewing my coffee. Once I get everything situated on the counter, I pour myself a hot cup of coffee and walk onto the porch. As soon as the fresh and mildly, humid summer air hits my skin, my breath caught in my throat. I look up at the sun, which was a big mistake because now my eyes hurt. I take a couple sips of my coffee to wet my throat and rub my eyes. I decide to go try to wake the girls up again.
I go back inside and walk up the stairs to my room. I immediately start banging on stuff to be extremely noisy.
"Come on girls! Wake up!" I scream louder than I had earlier.
"Okay. We are up!" Rachel yells at me and I laugh.
"No, you're not. You guys are still laying down. So technically, you guys are not up." I say sarcastically as the four sleepy girls start to get up and stretch.
The five of us finally make it downstairs to the kitchen. Amanda began making us all breakfast sandwiches, while Brittoni poured us all the drinks we wanted. We soon sat on the dining table and ate the deliciousness of breakfast. We were all telling each other about the dreams that we had when there was a knock at the front door. I stood up from the table and went to the door. I smile.
"Hey Ethan! What's up?" I ask, hugging him.
"Just took a run. Decided to come over and see what the five of us were doing today." Ethan said pulling away from the hug, giving a confident smile.
"Well, we are eating breakfast right now, but I was thinking about walking around town today. Do you want to join?" I ask and he grins.
"Sure. I'll let you girls finish eating. Just come over whenever the five of you are ready." He smiles at me and walks to the door.
"Bye Ethan. See you in a bit." I smile, starting to close the door behind him but he stopped at the threshold and looked back at me.
"Oh, one more thing. I found my sister on my run, but I'll explain how I found her later. Can she hang out with us?" He asks with a pleading look in his eyes. I could see how much he wanted me to say yes.
"Yes. Of course, Ethan." I smile.
"Thank you, Emma. You're truly amazing." He winks at me and walks out the door.
After closing the door, I look back at the girls who are now staring at me. I sit down and go back to eating, not wanting to meet their gazes because I know how that conversation will go. We all finish at the same time and do the dishes, so my parents don't come home to a mess. Then we got ready for the walk. The girls and I put our swimsuits under our clothes...always ready for a swim. We grab our purses and head towards the door.
