Kissed by Shadows~

C H A P T E R • S I X

In what I assumed to be morning, I found myself in a tangle of wine sheets curled up with what felt like a ball for fur ....Lu!! Grateful for her soothing presence, I cuddled into the cute animal and whispered the previous day's events. I'm terrified - I suddenly woke up in a strangers house, unaware of my surroundings, unsure of where to go... What am I going to do? At least I have my loyal Lu to be by my side at all costs, it could have been worse...

~Thirty minutes later~

Sleepily rolling over, I heard a mild knock on the bedroom door as a key in a lock turned in unison. The bedroom door now accessible, I watched as the inchmeal door handle turned as I instinctively flicked my eyelids shut. Sensing a presence in the room, I lay immobile as I felt a dark shadow survey over me, trying to detect any movement. Unsuccessful, the shadow disappeared as I heard something being placed down nearby, virtually inaudible. Moments after, I heard the rouge coloured door close with a soft creak as the figure merged into an unlighted corridor.

~Ten minutes later~
Convincing myself that it was now safe to move again, I rolled off the comfy bed and stood up shakily. Head in hands, I bit my lip viciously in attempt to stop the tears of pain which had already began rolling down my cheeks. The pills had worked temporarily, yet, my mind now throbbed bitterly. Noticing a crisply folded piece of paper, I opened it to be presented with neat cursive, inked in carmine. Focusing my eyes, I deciphered;

Good morning! I have arranged an outfit for you today, which can be found in the room opposite your bed. Once you are dressed, please meet me downstairs in the room to your left. Until then, your truly, Jett.
